Default 19 STI multifunction display hill angle not reading a number

Noticed today that the hill angle in the dash-top display is not reading the incline angle...it is just a few dashes.

This seems just odd. Anyone know what could be causing this or a fix?

Thank you x10000 in advance (and more later).

Hoping it is a simple thing to fix.

If you have no other warning lights (ABS/traction control) I would try capacitive discharge first. Disconnect the battery, turn the key on, then off, then reconnect the battery. Make sure the key is out of ignition (fob out of car for pushbutton start), the doors are shut and the car sat for 5 minutes before disconnecting the battery. When reconnecting battery be sure key is out of ignition (fob out of car for pushbutton start) and doors are shut.

My 2018 WRX has this problem occasionally. It always starts working normally again the next time I start the car. It hasn't bothered me enough to look into it further, I would guess it's just a software glitch.
