2010 WRX front O2 Sensor woes
ok, im pulling my hair out trying to find the right O2 sensor for my car.
first off, im NOT going to the dealer and dropping 250 on this when i can get the same sensor on amazon for half (or less) than that. anyway, i need a new front o2, car is surging at cruise/light throttle (surging seen in the AFRs, NOT the manifold pressure pressure is steady when this happens) similar to someone very lightly pulsing the throttle. google searching yields that the front o2 is likely the culprit, and with 107,xxx mi and counting, im sure that's it. but im having trouble pinning down the exact sensor that i need. im not going to play mix and match with a ton of different sensors to find the right one. and all of the o2 sensor threads here are for GD's, which dont seem to be compatible with my car anyway. one thing that seems to pop up when searching for a sensor via online sites like RockAuto, or advanced auto, etc, is EJ257 vs EJ255. i assume this is WRX vs STi? why do they have different part numbers? would it make a difference if i used one vs the other? theres also a large price disparity. im finding the front sensor to be more expensive generally, but im also seeing SOME retailers list something as upstream while other list the same part as downstream. some retailers will list a part as compatible, and others will list the same part as incompatible. can anyone list the part numbers for the FRONT O2 sensor for the 2010 WRX: Denso NGK NTK Bosch (you can insert your opinion of the sensor brands if you feel it's worth noting) |
