Unhappy Bad Vibrations

Hi there:

I just bought a 2004 WRX in the fall. I immediately noticed that when I am in third gear (occasionally second, too), there is an ominous vibrating/resonating noise when the car decelerates and the RPMs go from about 3500 to 3000. I took it to Thousand Oaks Subaru (not where I bought it) and they agreed the sound was weird and that the problem was due to a faulty flywheel. However, when it came time to install the new one (under warrany, of course), they called me back and said "your car already has the updated flywheel, and besides, we've changed our mind; your car sounds no weirder than any other 2004 WRX". Mysteriously and coincidentally, the problem disappeared shortly afterward! Happily, things remained fine for about two months afterward. However, right after I had the 3750 mile oil change/check-up, the problem returned! Now, I plan to have the good folks at Santa Monica Subaru (where I bought teh car) have a listen. Assuming the sound does not vanish again, we'll see what they say. Does anyone suffer from a similar issue? Note that the last 6 digits of my VIN are 509044.

I have a04 WRX Automatic that has a strong deceleration noise. Whining plus a Noisy Rattle! Sounds like a bolt rattling around, comes and goes. Not under acceleration.

I have replaced all the brakes front and rear plus wheel bearings and half shafts. I thought it was perhaps my driveline carrier bearing. I took out the shaft and the rubber is loose but the bearing Is a little loose but not bad, doesn't seem to have any sound I can hear but may need to moving faster. This shouldn't be the loose bolt sound I am hearing tho!?
