Anybody have Random Technology Catback?
I was looking into this system but only found feedback on their hiflow cats. Anybody have this system or have seen it before? How is the quality/construction? How does it sound (more like the tinny Borla or deeper Blitz)? On the same note, how load is it? Thanks for your help.

I consider the quality of the welding to be excellent, and it bolted up and fit perfectly. The muffler was too loud for me, although I feel that it is probably quieter than most of the aftermarket japanese mufflers. I replaced the cat-back portion with a Borla Hush. The Borla sounds great for my tastes, and is much quieter, but the welding was a lot sloppier on the Borla. The Random muffler is deeper and stronger sounding than the Borla. The slightly-used Random tech catback portion is for sale if you are interested. (PM me) As soon as I installed it and drove around for a week, I ordered the Borla to replace it. Note that the Random cat-back I have has a flat flange, and not a donut-gasket flange. It is meant to bolt up to another flat flange, not to the stock cat. |

Also have Random tech TBE. I dont mind the extra noise as much, and I'm getting quite addicted to the deep, throaty grow it gives. No gripes with construction, except a few minor exhaust rattles. Its also nice not to have to cheat your CEL with some resistor and stay emmisions legal.

Thanks for the reply guys. Great to hear b/c I was seriously looking to get this system and now, I'm ready to take the plunge.
Vector92-would you be willing to part out just the muffler? I have a TXS Stealthback but as we all know, regular catbacks don't mate up directly to the downpipe so at this point, I'm just looking for the muffler. Thanks. |

i have the catted downpipe from random tech, probably one of the best exhaust pieces ive ever seen. staying legal was really important to me and the fact that itīs 3" and stainless doesnt hurt either. i would buy it all over again... donīt be discouraged because just because it isnīt one of the more popular exhausts on this board.
