Looking and feeling up my car at the front there's more room than in the back. According to the tire calc the diameter is about .4 inches less and a touch wider. I'll report back when I get this done.

Now if only I could find something 18x9 between +40 and +48 in 5x100 that wasn't a Rota or $700 a wheel for a multi-piece in custom offsets and pcd. There doesn't seem to be many options for those who want to balance looks, performance, and practicality.
Still, thanks for the write-up and the info. |

hoping for a +38ish 18x9.5 and a 265 on my 2011 sedan. Definitely not looking to pull and was hoping not to roll. Thanks for the write-up, I'll probably have questions as I get closer. Do your mentions of tire/wheel sizes requiring/not requiring rolling take into account stock or alternate camber settings?

I've got a 2011 WRX sedan. Wanting to fit some wider 18's without performing any fender rolling.
Has anyone test fitted either of the following wheel and tire combinations on a 2011 WRX sedan? Wheel: 18x8.5 +44mm Tyre: 245/40/18 or Wheel: 18x9.0 +43mm Tyre: 245/40/18 |

either one of those will be fine, though I might suggest a 245/35 or 255/35 instead.

Why the 245/35R18? The 245/40R18 is only 1.5% bigger than the stock WRX's 235/45R17, and we know it fits under the bodywork because that's the OEM STI tire. The 245/35R18 is 2.3% smaller than stock. That's beyond the usual 2% rule of thumb for tire size variance. The 255/35R18 is 1.2% smaller than stock, so it's a good match...

Width Size And Offset For 2011 Sti
Iam interested in the Enkei nto3 in 18 inch. What the preffered offset & wheel size? Dont want to roll fenders or wheels sticking out beyond fenders. Car will be lowered in future 15mm.
Thanks |

I am getting some Enkei RPF1's 17x8 +45 offset for my 2011 WRX. Just using them with the stock tires. Do I need any other parts besides lugs to install these? I'm a total wheel noob, sorry.

I have a quick question for you Dan.
I have a 2011 Base WRX not lowered(yet) I am looking at a wheel that is available in a 18x10 with a +16 to a +42, or a 19x9.5 with a +4 to a +42 offset. I would like to say with a 18 just becasue tires are cheaper but will go with the 19 if thats the only one that will fit OK. I will roll the fenders if i need to. |

Depends on the tire motorrboat. Are you planning to run a tire that fits the rim, or are you going to put a small rubber band on it to ruin the handling and make you run -5 degrees of camber when you lower it.

going to run a 265-275 tire. No i wont pull the camber way in just to make it fit.
There are other wheels i like that are a little narrower, just if im going to spend the $$$ i want to try and get my first choice in wheels. |

Good to know. 265 is a lot of tire. should grip forever. But you will lose some steering feel.

Shouldnt be to bad. I like a lot of tire. My old Trans Am had 275's up front and 315's in the rear.

If you are asking what size and offset to choose, either 18" or 19" can work. As I have mentioned previously in this thread, I would stay with a +40 or greater offset. +42 should work great on the 9.5" wide wheel. On the 10" I'd probably do +40 -- we have not tried fitting a 10" wheel yet, so watch your inboard clearance. If you go with a 19" wheel you'll need a thinner profile tire -- so a 265/30R19 instead of a 265/35R18. --Dan Mach V FastWRX.com Last edited by Mach V Dan; 04-20-2011 at 10:56 AM. |
