Default Carplay and USB port issues

So, I put a 86431va620 (2019 sti non nav) into my 2018 fxt. I bought a 12 pin harness. I added the door wire. I swapped in a 2019 usb hub in the arm rest. Everything up to this point works. I bought a 2nd 2019 usb hub and modified the change tray behind the shifter under the radio to accommodate. I purchased a second 2019 usb arm rest cable. I tapped the original power wiring in the arm rest and used it to power both usb hubs. There are 3 USB ports on the back of this radio. Both cables have the same tab to only fit the left most port. I filed off these tabs. The ports fit any of the 3 now. Both work with CarPlay when plugged into the leftmost port. Neither work when plugged into the other 2 USB ports. What am I missing? Thanks for the help.

I noticed those ports do have different plug type channels. Not sure if filing the tab was a good move--I suspect those slots are there for a reason. I couldn't find any information on the purpose of each plug, share a link here if you find good info meanwhile.

I don't know for certain as I don't have that HU, but in the Alpine I installed, the manual stated that USB hubs aren't supported. This may not be completely pertinent to your application, but I suspect that it might be due to something in the software that can only handle so many USB data inputs at a time.

Some radios will only support CarPlay or Android Auto on a specific port. my 20 WRX has two USB ports in the center console but CarPlay only works on the left-most one.
