No, you PM me, I made a for sale thread. If you are interested in buying what I'm selling, you can craft a one sentence PM to ask me a question. Why people think sellers should pander to a bunch of half-interested buyers that are most likely not interested is beyond me.
Or people that want $30k for <xyz> car but yet they're too lazy to include pictures with their ad.

Nope.

I had a line on a white bugeye WRX wagon with 150k or so miles on it, one owner, adult owned, and he had a binder of receipts for everything he had ever done to it. No mods either, IIRC. He only wanted $4k for it.

I kick myself every day for not buying that car.
Wow I would have bought that up in a second. I often miss my 02 wagon. More so than the sedan. That wagon got me to some very cool Idaho back country spots in a damn hurry, and it was a lot of fun getting there.

I often get texts like this.

Buyer: ill give u $XXXX

Me: No you won't.

That usually signals the end of the conversation.

Doing it right:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2771349

(If I lived on the east coast, I'd seriously consider this car....)

Doing it wrong:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2771706

The cheaper car has less miles and is arguably more desirable because of the color. But don't lowball the second guy, bro. He only wants $5k over KBB for it.

What's the matter, you don't think $19K is a fair price for 12yr old STis?

I could see paying that much for an unmolested one with under 60k miles on it.

East coast car = rust.

It's completely absurd to attempt to draw a direct comparison between two different styles of the car located ~3k miles apart.

That WRX will sell for $8k. I'm willing to put money on it. The fact that you think KBB means anything is laughable at best.

Occasional cars get sold on this forum without the seller even listing a price.

"Never raced, never launched, never abused!"

Yeah, and I'm sure you dumped $10k into your car for a stroker and a bigger turbo to drive it around like grandma? Bitch, please.

If anything, I would expect the cheaper wagon in NH to have the jacked up price, since demand is much higher there than norcal. Also, the guy with the wagon conveniently provided photos of the fenders to show you there's no rust in the sheetmetal.

KBB is $4500 for private party. NADA retail was ~$7k. I'll be shocked if he gets $8k for a beat to ****, 13 year old car with 170k miles on it.

The fact that you can buy that yellow wagon, a better car, for a lot less shows you that there are much better deals out there if you're willing to look.

Sellers overvaluing there crap isn't exactly a new thing. I think the actual prices subaru seem to change hands for are absurd anyways.

I agree its pretty derpy to troll the posters though. Your gonna be busy if you intend to educate all optimistic sellers

Many forums have rules against this,

You still fail to understand regional pricing at its most basic level.

I'm also not sure how you conclude that some scratches on a 13 year old car = beat to ****. It looks pretty clean to me. I wouldn't buy a modded car personally, but they are pretty standard mods that a potential buyer may have already considered doing themselves. Just because you or I won't pay $8k for it doesn't mean someone else isn't willing to, especially someone spending their Mom and Dad's money.

If anything the yellow wagon seller is just short changing themselves. I'm sure when you sell cars you run it like a charity and make sure you don't profit from it since that would be immoral.
