Default Weird driveline noise 04 wrx MT

I just got back into a wrx since I sold my 02 Bugeye 15 years ago. Picked up a 2004 with 157k for 5k. Had an oil leak at the crank seal which I fixed already.

Also replaced the front axles and a wheel bearing.

Im getting a driveline noise that starts being noticeable at 2nd gear and gets louder as gears go up.

It doesnt go with the rpms and happens while the car is moving, and if I press the clutch while in motion it fades away. It sounds like its coming from the transmission, mainly the tail end of the transmission.

Any idea what it can be? Im going to upload a video as soon as I get a chance.

Thanks in advance.

Carrier bearing or u-joint on the driveshaft would be the first things I would check.

So it turned out to be my center differential. the retaining shims/ring that holds it together was off and broken. yet diff was still together. The 2 output shaft gears had chipped and broken teeth too. The bearings on the output shaft were also ****.
