![]() I took off my filter, cleaned/oiled it, cleaned the MAF, blew out the extension harness, put everything back together, and things are better but not perfect. Once I cleared learning it runs better, a week without codes and my car is no longer hesitating on throttle, but I'm still not happy with my AF Learning/Correct values, as they are still on the rich side. I am going to make some minor adjustments to where the filter sits to see if I can improve things a bit more.
My tuner originally installed this intake for me and it looks like they weren't 100% happy with its placement either, because they had drawn two lines on the pipe. Not putting a flange on the pipe so that we could nail placement every time is a huge design flaw with this Cobb intake. I would strongly recommend against this product.

![]() Anyone suddenly throwing P0171 codes after updating to the V400 maps?
I've had the Cobb SF intake installed on my stock 2018 WRX for about 4 years now. No problems with error codes the entire time, until I updated the maps a few weeks ago. A Cobb rep told me I 'had' (warning sign right there) to update my 2-year-old map as the one I was running was 'out of date' and the new one had 'improvements'. Not sure where my head was at, but I updated to V400. Ever since I updated my map - and with NO changes to the intake or filter - now I am throwing P0171 codes multiple times a week. My local Subi shop, which is a Cobb distributor, checked out my vehicle, ran a vacuum test, and found no problems. They even checked the placement of the filter to ensure it was exactly 1" from the end of the intake pipe. Their take is the map is the problem. Anyone else having these problems? |
