Default Options to unlock ECU?

'07 WRX can't be read by ecuflash because it fails after sending the key. Yes it's in diag mode.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get it reflashed?

I have an ecu on the way, and if that doesn't work I plan to just buy an AP and hope that does it. I think someone posted updated parts in the unlock thread, so maybe I should start ordering that stuff too.

I was trying to find a local with an AP to try, but everyone on the group just said an AP can't overwrite a previous AP. Cobb just kept telling me to buy another AP, and after a while I told them I wanted to use OS. He was even less helpful after that lol.

Did you physically move the chip, or clone it to the new one?

I pull the chip, read and burn a new one usually. But with an ecu your not going to use again I just pull it and use it. I always read and save a file incase I have to make one later. New ones are easier to solder back down sometimes. I use a hot air soldering iron.

Ok, I guess i will start reading up on reading those chips then. I have a guy coming with an accessport on saturday, so hopefully that will unlock it. I've done some pretty small SMT with my Hakko, so I don't think the soldering should be too terribly difficult. Hopefully I don't have to mess with it

Can I plug the new ecu in and see if it is unlocked before messing with the immobilizer?
