Thats a lot of boost. I feel like I’m missing something though as I have seen similar numbers on the 3076 with 10psi less

Id be interested to see what a better turbine housing would net at those boost levels in stock location. Its a great turbo, friend has had one for 5 years but its not an atp housing. Made me get the rotated garret 60-1 which is slightly bigger. (Gotta be faster lol) So far 397whp on 15 psi wastegate. You will love that same turbo but in rotated form even more.

Which kit are you planning for? It should be a big difference.

Just a random thought do you think elevation played a role as well as to why it took higher psi to make this power I'm at about 4000 feet

as for the elevation I hear its ~1.5 % hp or so for every thousand feet so I am not sure if that is why. Could be a combo of elevation and the inefficient turbine housing.

I have a spoolinator 3576 Gen 2 setup set aside for my built motor when my EJ205 finally kicks the bucket, that turbo rips.

However, if you already have a 3076 you can just swap out the hotside for one that matches your rotated setup. Youll pickup some spool, power and response over the traditional housing without swapping the entire turbo.

The gen 1 3582 is significantly less laggy than the gen 2 3582 FWIW

Interesting from what I understood all gen 2s offered more power and decreased spool time

https://lowboostperformance.com/kill...tor-turbo-kit/

I think low boost performance can still get you one if you wanted one.

But yeah I was so lucky to find a low mileage used 3576 G2 spoolinator for the GD for the price that I got it at.

In dozens of gen1 to gen2 swaps we have done, none of them had increased lag...

Personally I am leaving the garrett scene. I don’t know all the details but I do know that they changed their manufacturing process to a more “China like type” of production and they also filed for bankruptcy recently. Going with precision on the next one as all the similarly sized precision turbos make more power and are more cost efficient. Plus I haven’t heard anything about their manufacturing process changing in the last few years

To each their own.

But you might want to ask Killer B why they only use Garrett turbos
