Definitely a car that has earned its rebuild.

With the RA block in there, what is it going to do next?

I mean, you haven't done SCCA National Level RallyX in that yet, right?

Turbo oil drain? Or did the block crack?

Default Same situation

I've got the same situation going on.

Bought an '06 WRX TR and put 160,000 miles on it. My brother ran it up to 269,000 miles and gave it back to me 2 years ago. It definitely needs a refresh.

Kudos to you for cleaning it up!

Updates! Updates! Updates!

Is the new block in/going in? The weather is getting too nice (even in BC(?) I am sure) for the ladies to be kept inside.

Great build and very tastefully thought out and put together. Been silently lurking for a while, finally trying to get more active on the boards again.

Keep up the great work!

Havn't updated in while. Sorry.. Been busy with other stuff this summer... Well a rebuild is inevitable, I'm afraid... gathering up all the required "new" stuff and will probably rebuild over the winter.
Parts acquired:
- New OEM RA Shortblock
- New OEM 07 Intake
- New OEM 11mm Oil pump
- New OEM Engine gasket kit
- New OEM Engine Harness
- New OEM Water pump
- Used OEM Bulkhead Harness
- New OEM Timing belt Kit with tensioners and idlers
- New OEM Oil pan
- New Killer B Oil Pickup and Baffle
Heads will be refreshed with new OEM Valve springs and a factory fresh valve job maintaining the factory Sodium filled valves. Will be maintaining TGVs but will update to topfeed injectors.. probably 1000's Everything else will be refurbished the best I can do it to maintain a factory fresh look
Thanks

Bill

I'll be following this for sure. I don't have any issues with my car right now but with 135k on the motor...I don't really want to wait for a catastrophic failure and I was eyeing an RA block as well...although its highly unlikely, I want reliability that would allow me to put another 135k miles on the car if I wanted to...
