Default Looking at new 2020 Impreza Sport Manual

Hello!

Looking at getting a new car, and am very interested in the Impreza Sport 5d Manual. It's been tough to find one, but the local dealer has located one and I'm going to see it today!

I have heard that Subaru has an Ambassador program, which may have coupons for new Subaru purchases. I don't know of anyone locally in the program. Are there any on the forum that can help me understand the details of the program?

Thanks!

I think it may be hard to find an ambassador coupon, especially online. I believe Subaru kind of frowns upon that. Before I purchased my last WRX, I called Subaru of America and they gave me a $750 loyalty coupon.

In the past there were ambassadors who posted here and gave out coupons. However Subaru made it very clear that this was NOT an acceptable practice and any ambassadors found giving out coupons via social media would lose their ambassadorship. Since then NASIOC has prohibited such posts that either request or offer coupons so you will have to find one on your own offline.

Look carefully at the cost of the sport trim. I did when shopping Imprezas (I bought a Crosstrek instead). I broke down exactly what I'd need to upgrade a premium and even a base to sport trim. From the premium, it's pretty much different wheels/tires and a rear sway bar.

Mad WRX / Mulder, thank you both for the replies! That's kind of interesting, when I was poking around online for info on the ambassador program I saw some posts from a few years back griping about new requirements to be active in "social media" or lose the ambassador status. Seems rather ironic.

I'll give SoA a call then.

Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, the premium and limited trims don't have the manual tranny available, so it was either base or sport. There were a few important features I wanted not available on the base, like heated seats, and the sport has the short-throw shifter from the WRX STi and a stiffer brake which are both nice.

I also looked at the Crosstrek, and was very tempted to get it. I really liked the 6 speed manual. I eventually decided on the Impreza as I felt the handling was tighter, and I'm one of those weirdos that actually prefers a lower driving position. :P
