Default Call of Duty Modern Warfare (again)(PS4/Xbone/PC)

Guess it looks cool if you like single player. COD 4 was a good campaign. But I'll reserve judgment until the MP trailer at least.

I'm in.

Apparently it's extremely violent and makes "No Russian" look like a picnic.

Ok....they lost me at "Actual In-game footage."

Because that means absolutely NOTHING these days! Don't believe me? Just ask ANTHEM.

I haven't played a Call of Duty in years. Do they still do the most ridiculous micro transaction model? The one where you aren't even paying for in game currency to buy what YOU want? Only buying a chance at a lottery for some add on?

I feel like that's how I remember and why I checked out of CoD entirely. Their micro transactions were turning into scratch lottery tickets. Maybe you get perk you want? Maybe you get this useless emote? **** you that's why.

**** them.

Yes. They're still doing that **** and they've found a way to make it worse.

In the last COD, they released the game to reviewers without any microtransactions, the game got good reviews, and then when everyone had read the reviews and bought the game, then they added in the microtransactions and they were egregious as ****!

Don't forget, this is coming from the same company that released a COD remastered edition of a PS3/360 game on the new consoles and instead of adding all the DLCs on the remaster like all other remasters do, they re-sold the add-ons as DLC....and that DLC that was sold again received a price hike to boot.

It's for reasons like these that, outside of indie titles, I haven't bought a new game since 2016.

Yeah **** that noise. Hopefully little kids parents will stop letting their children pay for and enable this ****. Maybe then the game companies will actually listen.

I don't recall perks ever being inside them. But they put exclusive weapons in them in at least BOIII and that's just as BS.

There's a rumor this one might not have map packs, but then they have to make up the money elsewhere. What will likely happen is they will take the battle pass method of monetizing a game like Rocket League and Fortnite use, and also add lootboxes with cosmetics.

I really haven't played much COD since BO2. BOIV is on sale for $12 on PC right now and I'm kind of tempted at that price.

They released gameplay footage from a 2v2 mode. I couldn't find any gameplay with no annoying commenting over it, but it's all over YouTube.

Thank you! I thought I was the only one who thought that. BO2 looked worse somehow.

And Advanced Warfare looked like they took a step back about 10 years in graphics quality. I guess everyone was so busy jet-packing around they didn't notice.

WWII was finally a step in the right direction. BO4 didn't get worse.

MW3 is still my favorite of them all.

I saw some gameplay from sniping, and some other squad based gameplay. It looks like it plays a bit like RB6.... i'll still buy it because it's COD, but I hope this doesn't lose it's fast paced gameplay.

MW3 is better than MW2 IMO.

But the gameplay in the first two Black Ops games was so far superior to anything Infinity Ward has ever done it's not even funny.

I'm definitely kind of confused on how they arrived at deciding to showcase a 2v2 game mode. CS:GO has Wingman which is 2v2 but it's really not all that popular compared to the classic mode.

Not sure as they've never had that in any of the games, unless it was just a custom match, and they just set it up 2v2.

It still looks a lot like siege, which I wouldn't be super thrilled about since they already have that genre locked down, for tactical slower paced gameplay.

Yea ALL black ops games just play way better in my opinion. I still play black ops 3 very rarely, but it's still somewhat fun to me. The hitboxes are different, it looks better, maps are better.

The one with vehicles is apparently a 20v20 Team Deatmatch mode. There is plenty of actual gameplay on YouTube from whichever person you can tolerate.

same

I love the single player versions of CoD. Thats all I would play.
I havent bought the newer ones due to lack of single player, and price that never goes down below $50 for PC.

This one though, looks quite good. I might have to bend the knee.

Seems like a few youtubers are whining about the lack of a mini map, a lot. As a hardcore player, I don't understand the whining.

I couldn't stand any mode other than hardcore when I used to play.

I have to say seeing the trailer and the new multiplayer trailer that came out yesterday, it's giving me the same feels as when the original MW was coming out. I doubt I'll ever get back into multiplayer, but I definitely want to try this out and maybe burn through the campaign.

i watched the MP reveal, where they had youtubers/twitch players play the game....

It looks a lot of Rb6 and b5 best components into a call of duty to be honest. Smaller maps look cool, and the kill streaks are different.

The automatic FREE updates and no paid DLC is enough to get me to buy. Plus campaign, which I will assume to be co-op online.

Although it's BOTG, gameplay wasn't affected, and I think they got movement down pretty perfect. Not too fast to feel like you're playing unreal tournament, but not too slow to feel like you're playing PubG.

anyone play the beta? I played yesterday...

initial thoughts... Feels like a solid FPS, but does not feel like Call of Duty at all. Feels more like battlefield tbh. Game mechanics are good, movement is smooth, and TTK is much shorter than WW2 or even black ops. I feel like my shots actually do something.

They need to fix spawns of course, and have K/D in TDM (they have it in domination for whatever reason but not TDM?)

Guns do feel somewhat balanced, but AR's seem to be a bit overpowered.
