People selling/re-selling fitness equipment on FB marketplace, offerup, etc for 2-3x retail. I hope supply normalizes towards thanksgiving and these guys are stuck with their inventory and being forced to sale at a loss.

What are you trying to buy? Just curious as I'm in the process of building my own home gym. Weights cast out of concrete, building my own bar, building my own power rack & bench, etc.

I found a local fab shop to build me some shelf brackets and they were ~30-35% less than what I wanted and had found online. I reverse engineered a rack from brand R and I'm getting a quote from a local fab shop. I think they will end up being a bit higher than what I want to give up right now but we'll see. Still likely cheaper than brand R. I'm going to build a rack out of 4x4 timbers in the mean time.

Bumper plates mainly. Bars and racks are mostly in stock. But you get ramrod with shipping though, $250 shipping for a power rack from rogue

I'm one of those people. Wal-Mart sells a 100 lb set with 10,15, and 25 lb vinyl covered cement plates and a bar. I put the 10 and 15 on eBay for $41 and $51 and then sell the 25/bar on FB for $40. Profit about $60.

I also picked up a pair of 20 lb weights, $40 plus $20 for shipping means only $30 in profit. They had about 10 that I could have bought but it seems like the market is slowing down.

There have been no maintenance people in the building since May, and the building is set to summer occupancy. It is 38 degrees outside.

Damn it's cold in here!

Gripes with my Step-Father.
He chews with his mouth open and talks while his mouth is full. (why.. seriously why)
Any time there's a song that he knows. He will sing the line of a song before it happens and then again when it happens and so on until the song is over.
I don't see him often but these two things happen a lot.

I'm talking about people selling a set of $500 plates for $1200. Factoring in taxes and shipping, they're still marking it up $300. DIAF, one guy waited 3 months for his shipment according to his ad. Jokes on him, gyms are open now and the demand is slowing.

Not when they buy out all the pre-orders via bots. We got up at 1AM for concert ticket pre-orders and by the time we clicked through to select tickets, only nosebleeds were left. Minutes later all the lower level tickets were on stub-hub type resellers for 150% of the face value. We said **** it and went back to bed.

Affogato- scoop of vanilla gelato, double shot of good espresso, shot of amaretto (optional). My favorite weekend coffee and/or fallback when I run out of half and half.

There is something there to improve upon. Better to start at the bottom and practice and improve.

Edit: If you have an electric mixer or even a frother it will go quick.

Edit 2: Would make a great dessert (done right)
Made with Moka pot espresso today. Needs a little more sugar than the instant stuff to whip up. Brown sugar seems to work better. Obviously it was much improved

Gonna keep experimenting with this.

Me by next week....

Why do we care what Lebron James thinks about Lori Laughlin choosing prison? Must be a slow news day.

Too many people don't understand the difference in an editorial and news.

"News" outlets exploiting that.

Installed new French doors back in May. We had ordered in March, but due to Covid, delivery was delayed.

I got them installed, but decided to wait until the weather cooled off a bit to paint them.

They are outswing doors, which usually have features on the hinges to prevent removing the pins. These didn't.

And I noticed today the "stainless" hinges have rusted already...obviously not stainless.

They probably weren't passivated, or really low chromium / nickel content. I knew a sales guy for a sheet fabrication company in Detroit, and we called rusty ss "Smith Stainless" because he had gifted sheets of cheap ss to someone and his deck turned all rusty
