Auto. Wasn't looking for one, didn't even know what a Baja was (don't see many in Dallas Tx). But when I was looking for a used truck (my wife wanted a car) we saw this and liked it !!!

Can anyone tell me if any of this thread applies to a 2003 subaru baja. I have owned mine since new but never bother to look for info until recently.

Also I need some body work done to it (a motorcycle hit me on the RR) and I need parts for it.

are all body panels matching for all years of the baja? I need the RR tail light, bumper cover, fender, fender cover and gas door cover.

I believe all the models are same.

Default 3" cuts tower lift

Has anyone installed a 3" tower lift, and suddenly have a little problem with the power steering? When I turn the wheel feels like it hangs then loosens, then hangs and loosens. Power steering pump is pumping, hydraulic liquid was very black? Any suggestions.

What are the simptoms on your passenger axle? Does your steering wheel hang then let's go?

I flushed my power steering not too long ago and it feels a lot better. Go in YouTube and search for subaru power steering flush. It's real simple. You got nothing to lose because that oil is black anyway

Default Thanks

Thanks, after replacing a bad cv axle, ps fluid, found the problem to be the rack and pinion coupling was starting to freeze. Sprayed on pb penetrating blaster on the cross members and it's working like new. Total cost of fix 3.99 on sale at oreillys.

Default CV axle

Hi All,

I just wanted to input in my experience with the CV axle problems. I had similar problems with the local auto parts stores. Hopefully my post will help someone avoid the same headaches I was having. It was getting confusing with turbos vs non-turbos as well as manual vs automatic transmissions.

I used this PART #: 1AACV00109 from 1A Auto.

http://www.1aauto.com/subaru-cv-axle...=731649&y=2005

I used this in a 2005 Subaru Baja Turbo with Manual transmission. It fit perfectly.

Best,
Tim

I'd only use OEM axles, and I'd use the Forester XT part number.

There's a ton of posts saying you use the ECU out of an '04 Forester XT if you want to use an AP.

The problem with that is that they started using keys with immobilizers in '05.

I can only assume it would be the same, the Forester XT used the same platform from 2003-8 so you should be good with whatever. I don't know for sure though, I'd feel safer saying 2003&2004 though.

Anything that fits a Legacy/Outback from 2004 should drop right in.

In general 1993-2007 Impreza or WRX stuff will fit in the front.
1995-2004 Legacy and Outback should fit (unsure of 90-94) the front.
Rear would be closest to a 2000-2004 Legacy or Outback wagon.
