Default WRX with STI wheels, posing?

Hey y'all, I have a Lapis blue 2017 WRX Limited.
My friend sold his STI and gifted me his winter setup. Michelin tires on 2015-17 STI base wheels.
Would it be posing of me to leave the STI center caps on the wheels, when on my WRX?
Should I change the center caps to WRX or Subaru logo caps?

In my opinion, no, it's not posing. Especially since you got them for free. Rock them if you'd like.

The STi wing on a WRX is another story, but at the end of the day we're all entitled to our own opinions. Enjoy!

Thanks y'all!
I didn't think so, either, but I knew the NASIOC crew would pull no punches.

Rock those wheels pizza_pablo, theyre stylin'! Sti just stands for Subaru technica international. Subaru's tuning house essentially. Just don't go putting sti badges on your trunk

If someone gives you flak for having STI badges on your WRX, it’s an excellent indication that you don’t need to pay any attention to them.

No one likes a poser. Be proud of your wrx or Impreza. Sti parts are awesome. No reason not to use them but to put the badge on your car is a different story in my book. Use all the sti parts you want, your vin number doesn’t say sti so why would you put the badge

Change the caps out my guy. As another poster said there's nothing wrong with liking STI parts, but just don't have it labeled when it's not what you have.

Some people will call you out...mainly Subaru guys. Just be sure you're ready to handle that.

It's your car - you want the STi center caps, keep them on. It's an STi part. Not sure how one becomes a "poser" with their car... do what you want - if you like a part, and want it on your car, then that's where it belongs. There is no "protocol" to be violated when it comes to setting up the car the way you like it.

Heck no, not posing. Nothing wrong with using better looking wheels. That would be like saying a person who put some Enkei RPF1 wheels on their car was posing as a professional race driver. So long as you aren't telling people "it's an STi", it's a non issue. I have WRX wheels on my normal impreza because they look much better, not trying to fool anyone. They are also more stable at speed, and I am upgrading a few suspension parts to make it have a sporty feel. Don't worry about anyone who says otherwise, and yes there are idiotic people here who may believe it's posing, lol.

I'd leave the center caps, the sti pink color is nice and you don't have to worry about finding ones that match the wheel color. Otherwise if it bothers you, find another set and paint to match the wheels.

I guess it's just tacky. It's like a V6 Mustang putting a "GT" emblem on the back of their car. Why?

I don't think theres any problem with putting sti parts on a wrx. I like to think of the brand "sti" being just subaru's in house tuning segment, and not just the sti as being a car.

This is different than just an emblem IMO. These are wheels that happen to come from the STi from the factory, and have an STi logo on them. The OP wants to use them because he likes how the wheels look, not because of the badge.

If you were to just buy an STi badge by itself and stick it on your WRX trunk, then yes, I'd agree that's super tacky.

Default Not Posing

I don't think its posing, posing for me is sticking the STI badges all over the car. I love the STI Wheels.
