Default Disapointing track times....

Finally got my new combo to the track tonight and it ran barely faster then my car with bolt-ons and Ecutek reflash.

Here is the time slip 60'-1.824
330'-5.338
1/8-8.228
mph-85.94
990'-10.642
1/4-12.801
mph-108.85

Mods are: Perrin FMIC, Perrin Big-maf, modded inj's, 255lph, SZ49, HKS EVC II, and ECUtek by MSPT at 1.5bar

Car Has felt amazing on the street but at the track it just feel's slow. The clutch was slipping abit(Still Stock), so I launched very easy at 3K. But after seeing so many other people running 110+ on 20gs and 115+ on SZ49 I am thinking that there might be a problem with the car. I checked for boost leaks and vaccum leaks all over and haven't seen any. The only problem I notice is abit of a hesitation when shifting between gears and the car runs horrible with the air on. Any suggestions? It was pretty cool in the 70's but the humidity was really high.

Sometimes a car can rev extremely but not run that well through the gears (on and off boost). What is your a/f ratios and timing curve look like.

I had a hard time building boost from a launch, with a best on 1.25 bar, but was able to boost 1.6 in any gear from a roll. What boost are you hitting in each gear?

Your driving doesn't look all that bad.

108 traps mean the car was only making somewhere in the 310-330whp range.

Double check it on a dyno ,

BTW i assume you have a TBE...as the mod list is missing it.

I agree w. mark. Your 1/4 is about what I run with 236whp. Your 60 and shifting are not what is holding the car back. Did you toggle to a low boost map by accident? Bad tank of gas and pulling timing? There has to be some variable at hand

It was on 94 octane and yes forget to say I have a TBE(my bad).

As for the dyno, The shop was having problems with the dyno that day and since I live in SJ and the car was in LI and I had to pay for a rental for over a week I figured I would just get it dynoed near me haha. I am sure that dave did a good tune on my car from MSPT but it is possible that the car mya be down on power and the only true way to find out is to dyno it which I am going to try to do this week.

As for boost I am not too sure about 1st and 2nd since It goes by so fast but 3rd-5th I am hitting 1.45bar. I also have no paperwork as to what my AFR's and timing are so when it is dynoed I am going to need to get those for sure. All this time and money into this tune I would hate to have to spend even more but I guess what ever it takes to run good. Thanks for the quick responces

i saw your car at metric last week. sorry to hear your having probs. i had the same prob w/ my old car. on the street it was an animal, as soon as it got on the strip and launched i wouldnt see my target boost. but w/ a 1.7 60ft or better you would have gotten a 12.5-6.

the clutch was slipping abit on launch(I usually get 1.70's-1.72's) and I shift pretty fast but running a 12.5-6 is still pretty bad since I ran a 12.8 with the stock turbo at 106mph so I was really hoping for 112+mph.

But right now I am going over the entire car and check everything, maybe that bucking and hesitation is blown vaccum line. It can't hurt to look at the easy stuff first and take it from there.

I would recommend getting delta dash so you can log what is going on. You can even log your drag runs. It also has the road dyno function so you can experiemnt with boost settings etc. for the best setup.

If you having bucking and hesitation, you need to get that checked out. It sounds like there is a leak somewhere. If so, find it before going wot again. Once you do reset the ecu and see if that fixes it.

I run 12.7 @ 107 - I have a Crawford 2.4 in a WRX wagon. I make over 320 ft-lbs of torque, but only about 260 whp. My 60 is also 1.8.

This is on a "heartbreaker" dyno on CA 91.

I am guessing that you said it feels great on the street, you have a similar tune, lots of low end torque with a fast spool up, so you take off fast, but without some high end torque, power drops off fast, air drag ect.

I live in Cherry Hill KarlKnaupp.

Well I checked out the compression just to make sure and all cylinders were at 95psi, which I thought was low but called around and was told that 95psi was a "good" number.

As for the BOV I had the stock one on but sometimes when going from say 50% throttle to 25% throttle without completely letting off the BOV would act like I was quickly stabbing the throttle and letting off(open and close several times very fast) and the car would buck alot. I currently put my Turbosmart BOV back on with the same results and am just waiting on my Perrin to come in

The hesitation is mostly when accelerating at a normal pace, when I go back on the throttle it will sputter and break-up alot. The car pulls very nice in 4th-5th up top but I really do need to get a delta dash to monitor it. I was trying to get it dynoed but thr shop by me has their number disconnected so no go there hahaha.

I changed the plugd today to a step colder and checked just about everything and couldn't find a problem...I know there must be a leak or something somewhere and will check again tommorow.

Don't sweat it. Humidity is a KILLER on these cars. Try hitting the track again when it comes down. If that doesn't do it, I'd suggest going back to the tuner for a redo.

I figured the humidity would hurt it abit but its the other problems that worry me....I hope to find a shop abit closer(maybe with a dyno) so I can see exactly what the car is making,AFR's,Timing and all that other good stuff
