He doesn't even want to drive to Rocket, what makes you think he is going to drive all the way down there?

I recommend Rocket Rally, had my car dyno tuned there and I couldn't be happier with the result of the work.

i'm thinking he maybe isn't so fond of rocket. he's is driving a spec b and all. If he wants top of the line performance for his top of the line ride, then he should probably head down to surgeline.

Because RR can't do "top of the line" rides?

Their is also Maxwell Power it's close to Tulalip outlet mall, it's about 40 minutes from the boarder.

Both Dominic from Maxwell and Pat from RR are the only ones I would really trust tuning my car.

I think there is also a Shop off Lougheed in Coquitlam Racing Greed, never had work done but they have a nice Suby so they must know some thing.

i dont recall saying that. was just thinking maybe he doesnt like rocket.

What i am saying is that Tim Baily is extremely experienced and that's why he used to travel state to state to tune people's cars and that's why people line up to get his tune. so basically, i'm opening the op options up.

is there anyone in vic running a tune from somewhere besides RR

Yes, there are...and many who did got re-tuned by RR. There are lots of good tuners out there but there are heaps of bad ones. We are fortunate to have a very good one locally and a few semi-locally which gives great options. I have yet to hear of a solid tuner located within Vancouver though so I would say RR would be the closest option and then your next best bets would be to travel Statesiiiiide! The OP simply wanted a very "local" option and it doesn't seem that anyone has offered one. You can get parts in Vancouver but for a good tune you're going to need to travel 40min. to an hour.

I have heard good things about racing greed recently(and horrible things in the past)....definitely dont have the reputation of RR or some of the WA/OR tuners to back them up though.....would i trust them tuning my setup (a lot more involved than 90% of people on VIC) from scratch? **** no. Would i go to them and have them make some minor tweaks or help me trouble shoot problems my tune, for sure. So if you're throwing in a built engine with a 4202 then you might want to head down to WA or up to RR, but if you're just looking for a stage 2 flash with a little tweaking i would consider RG an option, drop by and talk to them and see how you feel. In the end its your car, and although some people may think a certain shop is the bestest in the world, other people may think otherwise. As much as it seems by all the mokther****ers on here with the stis that are all clones of eachother, we're not all the same person, or so i like to think.

for me i tune my car myself, but i'm by no means an expert/experianced tuner, so when i hit a road block, or cant figure something out and need some help thats when I go to a shop. I prefer dom down in WA at maxwell, simply because he is the man with RS-Ts and is awesome to work with if you're a DIY kinda guy (explains everything to you while he's doing it, its a learning experiance, not just a tune for me)....

I think the tuner you choose depends a lot on the type of person you are, the goals for your car, your budget, what you've done to the car, etc.....

Old thread I know but I hate starting new ones. I just spoke to Rocket Rally and they don't work on retail vehicles any longer, and Maxwell in Washington has closed. Oregon isn't much of an option so does anyone have experience with any other shops within a couple hours of Vancouver?
