ICS Project '08 STI - new dyno best - 529 WHP on Pump Gas & Meth !
I am super excited with our progress on the ICS / Dyno Flash Project '08 STI Big thanks to George & Andre for working double time to get all our new Perrin goodies onto the car and installed with OEM like craftsmanship. It is clear that Perrin takes a lot of pride in what it produces and the fit is excelent on their parts. The modifications on the car are : Axis Racing Stage II Short block Perrin GT35 R turbo Kit Perrin cold air intake Custom 3" dual muffler exhuast APS TGV deletes DW 850 Injectors Walbro fuel pump Aquamist HFS 1 Cobb AP 2 E Boost 2 EBC Agency Power 4 - 1 header APS TMIC Here are some pictures of the parts on the car : Tuning Notes : This was done at 28 - 29 psi on PUMP gas 92 with the Aquamist HFS 1 - two # 8 jets. We still have the stock BOV and it is leaking a bit. We are out of MAF and need to go with a larger MAF tube - our current tube is way overloaded at 3" - we will go with a Perrin Big MAF and customize it for the '08 MAF sensor footprint Also - the Cobb Pro Tuner has a limitation in that the MAF grams limit can not be adjusted - we have alerted Cobb to this and expect a quick update The TMIC is really working great and seems to be well up for the task I don't like 4 - 2 -1 style headers so called Equal Length units such as the perrin one and I have found that a 4 -1 header makes more power. After George selected the Perrin header I suggested it may prove to be a limitation and sure enough we did a back to back test on the car without touching boost or tuning and discovered while the equal length header makes a bit more low end TQ and spools up slightly faster it robs 15 whp up top as compared to the Agency Power 4 - 1 unit. With the new MAF tube and revised software we will smooth out the graph a bit and prob pick up at least 10 more whp. I would like to see the differnce with the Perrin FMIC and also consider some head work and or cams when they are available for this application.

do you think that horsepower difference was from the difference in pulse merging? (4-2-1 vs 4-1) Or do you think is was due to the fact that the perrin headers uses small primary tubing? (tubing ID being smaller than the exhaust ports in the head) i am not familiar with the agency power primary sizing.

unless they changed the primary size, the perrin header that i had was smaller ID than the head ports on my 06 sti.

is this the same car you recently had the FP hybrid turbo on? if so what were your reasons for moving up and what did you think of that turbo?

ICS AND DYNOFLASH FOR THE WIN BRO!
Great numbers on the car, you guys are the pioneers with the 35r kit on the new 08's and I coudn't be more impressed. The car sounds much better IMO with the agency power header, but if you look at the curve I think that it is all dependent on what the customer is seeking, more low end around the low gears/rpm's or some good power all the way till redline... Either way that is exciting stuff that this is just on pump w/ a STOCK TMIC! There is much more power to be had in this setup, keep up the good work, and get this thing to the track ASAP!!! |

We will be updating everyone next few days. We have lots of customers cars that need to tuned and repaired before we take her to the next level. Its kind of weird.. not hearing the wastegate dump into the atmosphere with this much power, but I will tell you she will def be once sneaky Bitch on the road once on boost! -George Kakaletris |

Well to each is own on the exhaust. Lots of people who see it in person really like it. Some people either like it or dislike it. -George Kakaletris |

its stock location top mount but who makes it?... id like to stay top mount with my fp green'd 04 sti and i made 366hp on a low reading mustang through the stock sti topper at ~22psi. something a little more efficient would prolly help my numbers im sure.

i just think the dual fart can look is meant for accords and camrys with body kits and it sounds real hollow and tinny...
and ya def say stock tmic in the vid a bunch of times, you should clarify what topmount it is and its a stock LOCATION tmic. its like al saying he has a stock fmic on his evo. |
