Default Mud guard modification for larger tires on 2012 Outback

I just got some BF Goodrich Advantage TA Sport LT's on my 2012 Outback. They are 225 65's to replace the stock specified 225 60's so they are about 11mm larger on the radius about 1" over all on the diameter and they rub on front rear mud guard slightly when the steering wheel is racked. Is there a after market mudguard available for larger tires or a way to modify the stock guard without cutting off the bottom of it and making a big crack for mud to pack into?

If they are the factory splash guards then those are an add-on accessory and can simply be removed. Compare the item in the linked instructions - if it's the same just reverse the installation. Any additional installation holes drilled are in plastic and you can stick the bolt or push-pin back in.
