I was thinking of either 225/40/r18 or 235/35/r13 for rubber.

I have slight fender Rolling already on rears

Thanks a lot guys.

Anyone seen these wheels on an STI yet? I was thinking about going with 18x9.5 +45 's. I talked to a shop that recommended them in 18x9.5 +22?!

Any thoughts? or experience with fit?

Hey everyone. Looking to by new wheels and tires come next spring. I'm just trying to decide now what my sizes should be. I'm a wheel/tires noob so be gentle lol.

2013 WRX
Stock ride height.
18x8 +35 offset (looking at the nt03+m's)
Either 245/40/18 or 255/40/18 tire. Or if I go with the 255 should I go with a 35 sidewall?

Like I said I'm a noob, just looking for some input for a future purchase.

Edit: Also considering the rpf1's in 17x9 with a +45 offset.

God help you... Go buy an frs or something rear wheel drive if you want staggered... Learn about the vehicle you are modding before doing anything to it for Christ sakes

Bump!

Anyone have any input on this set up?

I would prefer the nt03's in the 18x8 +35 but if there is too much of a performance loss then I'd go with the rpf1's in they 17x9 +45. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I would go with an 18x9 wheel. 18x8 wheels in those models just looks off on the widebody.

I can't find the nt03's in a 18x9.5 unless I get hub adapters and get them in 5x114 which I really don't want to do. That's why I was leaning towards the rpf1's since they are 17x9. They just look smaller then a 17 though since they have such a big lip.

Where are you looking? Spun on this forum has 18x9.5+40 5x100 NT03's in stock. I bought mine from AutoRND, they have a bunch of them in stock in several finishes, including white, silver, and SBC.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I should have also put that I'm not looking to run that wide of a rim/tire combo, right now at least. Like I said I am on stock suspension and will probably be for another year or so. Possibly get some lowering springs next summer but who knows. Not really looking to roll fenders or anything at this point, just want to get rid of the stockers and ditch the sucked in look at this point.

Read the first post in this thread. You could run up to a 255 without rolling fenders on that wheel.

Yeah I didn't want to go any wider then a 255 tire for that reason....I just thought I would have to run a 9" wide wheel and no wider then that. If I could run a 18x9.5 +40 with a 255 tire then I will do that. That way when I do lower I already have an aggressive wheel for the drop and could get wider tires/roll the rears.

I know the wheels Spun has are custom ordered and I'm not ready to buy until the spring so I doubt they will have any left by then. Do a lot of vendors do custom order wheels like that often?

Sorry for all the dumb questions....just trying to learn as much as I can about wheels and tires. You guys have been great so far.

Are there any major differences (other than price) in running a 235/45 tire with 17x6.5 steel wheel versus a 215/55 tire with 16x6.5 steel wheel for a winter setup on my all-stock '13 hatch? The instruction manual for the car stresses to stay as close to stock as possible, but TireRack recommends the smaller one because they claim traction in the winter would be better. Would the smaller one cause any adverse effects in fitment or any other areas? The overall diameter of the tires differs by only 0.1", but I just want to ask people who know more than I do and get a definitive answer. Thanks.
