primarily rubbing issues ...

what I should have said is to be sure you roll enuf to fit some wider tires in the future.

With the +30 offset and 265 wide tires, you may have to pull a little on the rears if you go lower.

I guess my whole point is the decisions you make now may save you some extra work and $$ in the future ...

Would be used as a daily. I have a very short commute. And I'm keeping the spec C wheels for the odd track day.
Keeping stock suspension for now as well.
Was wondering if an 18x9.5 +30 wheel would accomplish what I want ?
Would be using the 245/40/18 tyres for now. I don't mind the mild stretch if it helps with fitment.
Specifically looking at the Enkei Kojin wheels.
I know the offset is low compared to stock but it's the only 5 spoke concave wheel I like a lot.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
supposedly has a spec C.

wants to go hella flush.

:/

Yes. Because it's not everyday I'll be on the track.

I'm not going to be racing with these Enkeis.

What's wrong with getting wheels to full out the wheel wells better?

The weight of the Enkeis are the same as the Spec C wheels.

It's not like I'm gonna lower the car or get the car bagged or anything which I think is ridiculous.

And FYI it is a real Spec C imported from Japan.

Jesus man.

oh, wow, your Spec C is in the USA! I just assumed you were in Japan. I had imported a non-US Miata into the USA back in 1996. Wish I still had it today.

Default Help

Please forgive my ignorance but I'm very new to this and I got a killer deal on some 3 piece wheels for my 11 wrx. I was hopping to get 18x9.5 +38 but the 3 piece wheels I found are 18x9 +38 fronts and +24 rears. Will the rears fit if i roll the fenders or will I have to make a pretty big flare? I also have access to a body shop and grew up around it and can do and light body work and paint myself.

After reading many threads, I found that 17x9 +35 RPF1's require ~8mm spacers when used with gold 04-07 Brembos. I also read that OEM 08+ WRX wheels clear the black 08+ Brembos but not the 04-07 Brembos, which leads me to believe that the 08+ Brembos are slightly slimmer. What spacers, if any, are required to clear 08+ Brembos with 17x9 +35 RPF1's?

I have 08 black on my wrx front and rear with stock rims and i have to use a 2mm spacer to clear front but the rear doesn't need any spacers clears with plenty of room.

Hi all, just ordered some 17x8 5x100 rpf1 for my 2014 wrx. I searched and could not find a definitive answer if I would need hub centric spacers or not. It seems that the wheels may have changed at some point and they are no longer needed but some people have still needed them.

This is the Enkei part number I ordered... 379-780-8045SP will I need the spacers for these and if so what size?

Also will the stock lug nuts fit or does it require a different style of lug nut?

The answer is yes to both questions.
1. The hub rings: Your wheels appear to be a 73mm bore, the WRX has a 56.1mm bore. I used this website: http://us.hubcentric-rings.com/custo.../?src=intpopup
This site was the easiest way I found to get a custom size that I knew would fit perfectly.

2. The lugs: The stock lugs are "acorn" style and your new wheels are "conical" style. I suggest something like this: https://www.rallysportdirect.com/par...5-lug-nuts-red
These are Rays lugs so you might want to get a different brand but I just included the link as an example.

This information is right. We stock Subaru-specific hub rings.

This is not quite right. Conical describes the shape of the seat where the wheel and lug nut touch each other. Different types of seats include flat, ball, and conical, and there are a couple of different conical standards, although I've only seen 60-degree. Almost all wheels for Subaru have conical seats. You have to have a matching lug nut for the type of seat on your wheel. Conical-seat wheel, conical lug nut. Factory Subaru wheels have conical seats, as do almost all aftermarket wheels for Subaru.

"Acorn" is just a description of the style of lug nut, in terms of the overall shape -- compact, like a little acorn, as opposed to a long style. But an acorn lug nut could be conical or ball seat. The vast majority of "acorn" style lug nuts I have seen are conical seat.

I started to suggest Tire Rack, but realized that they only have 5x114 steelies that clear. You need 5x100. The OEM 2004 STI spare would work, but that's pretty skinny. You can get that from the dealer parts counter.

Yea but I have a wrx not a sti. Tire rack doesn't have option to tell them you have wrx with sti brembos that I am aware of.

Tell them you have a 2004 STi, which has Brembos, and a 5x100 bolt pattern like your WRX.

Then maybe look into alloys instead of steelies. There are some very inexpensive aluminum wheels that will fit. They will weigh less than steel wheels, too.

Thanks for the input but I do know I can run alloy wheels I have a second set of.rims already but I'd like to stick with steel if I can as they will be stronger for winter incase I run into any problems in the snow and ice

Say you had an 18x9" +23 wheel. Would that not be the same as an 18.9.5 +38 as far as where the wheel would sit with the fender? (on any car for example) 15mm is .59 inches so pretty much half an inch which the 9" wheel would make up for with that +23 offset correct? Am I doing that right lol?

The outer lip of the wheel would be the same location as a the outer lip of a 18x9.5" +29 wheel.

1/2" difference in wheel width = an additional 12.7mm of width. Divide by 2 (half of the additional width is on the inside, half on the outside) = 6.35mm. 23 + 6.35 = about 29mm.

Hey Guys,

Thinking about running Ventus V12 Evo's on Enkei Raijins 18x9.5. Will I have an issue running the V12's with 265/40R18? I kinda would like to avoid rolling fenders if I can but I would still like to eliminate as much wheel gap as possible. Thanks for the input.
