Okay I apologize, but i did read it and he said he doesn't recommend a +25 or a +30 offset and that a +40 offset will work give or take a couple mm. So a +35 is right in the middle of working and what he doesn't recommend. So that is why I asked and I wanted to make sure that I had no issues with rubbing. So I'm sorry that I wanted to double check before i go and spend $1000 on rims and tires. Like I said that was my first post so clearly I don't really know what I'm doing. So there is no need to get mad. I also stated I know very little about wheels and tires, so I don't know what effects tire size. Next time I will do A little bit more reading before I post something. sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you Reese.

Like Reese said. Also, being a new guy, be prepared for ****ty comments like that. NASIOC is unfortunately known for that. I follow 4 threads and post on two, just for that reason. So build up some calluses for those who bash noobs. Back to your question, to stay on topic, when you go to lower the car, definitely roll the rear fenders as that offset and width will rub.

You may have already realized this ... but plan to spend much more than $1000 on both rims and tires. Don't forget to add a budget for installation, rolling fenders, TPMS, etc...

yes. nasioc is known for telling people to at least try to read the thread before responding.

"within eyesight" is a good rule of thumb when looking at fitments.

Yeah that was just a rough estimate. But with the rims I want it will be right around $1500.

That is a huge tire. 225/35-18 is the correct diameter for your car. And a 255 is a very wide tire for an 8.5" wheel.

^^^this. I run 255/40 on my 17x9 and it's perfect. But 255/35 would be the tour for an 18x9 I would run.

235/40 or 245/40 is the proper size as sc00by said. This will fit basically like stock, very minimal difference (about 1/4" closer to the fender).

Same bolt pattern. Same size wheel and tire. I would assume so. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm pretty sure they are still 18x8.5 with a 55 offset and still 5x114.

The 2015 wrx are now that size as well where as the older wrx are 17x8 55 offset and 5x100 bolt pattern. So maybe he was referencing that?

Nonetheless you can fit an 18x9 +42 with no issue if you were going wider

The 2015 WRX wheels are the same size as the 2014 WRX, except the 2015 have a 5x114 bolt pattern.

2015 WRX has 17x8 wheels, and the same size tires as the 2014 WRX.

Has anyone tried putting taller tires on the 2011+ WRX?

I'm thinking... now that I have the slightly taller king springs on (King "standard height") I have a bit more wheel gap. I'm thinking that instead of going to a 9.5" wheel, to only move up to an 8.5" and then go with a slightly taller tire to fill some of the gap.

Thoughts?

25.3" is the stock diameter, how large do you think I could go with a 235-245 width tire?
I'm thinking of using an 18x8.5 +48 wheel.

Thanks,

-- Dave
