"Sticky" thread suggestion regarding wheels...
I think we should have a "sticky" thread that would be up-to-date on all known 17" wheels that will fit the STi. As we know 17" wheels present a unique situation when it comes to the STi and because of this there are very few available. Since there must be more to come it would be nice to have access to the latest info!
The thread would only contain posts with info on the wheel...what make, how much, where to get, pictures, etc. No "opinions", "discussions" or any other non-wheel related info would be permitted, that way the thread would be informative and straight and to the point without having to scroll through pages and pages of useless debate just to get the lowdown on two wheels! It would also save a bunch of "what wheels??" threads in the future. ...oh, and please be understanding if this is not an issue for you because you are only interested in 18"+ wheels to begin with...on the roads I drive even 17" wheels result in borderline too thin rubber on some days... So whatcha all think?

I think that's a good idea. What other thread are you refering to? The only one I could find is about wheel swaps. What wheels do fit the STI, I need to know.

The original thread is great but I wish you would edit your post to reflect the current list of "confirmed" wheels
(If you have already done this, I'll shut-up now) |

I honestly don't care who's thread we use, but lets keep it...or make it..."clean" with only wheel specific info and lets make it "sticky". |

you could also put some 16" on there, alot of people seem to think that since the STI comes with 17", you cant put anything smaller. im sure even some special 15" could fit on there. if you take a good look at the STI's 17" rims, and mesure the inside of the wheel. you get something like 15" maybe even smaller. that means any "well engineered" wheel that wont have alot of space between the actual spoke of the rim, and the rim itself. will fit over the brakes. |
