This is the kind of setup I have been looking for!! First off, let me begin by saying thank you Dan and everyone else on the thread with your excellent tips and expertise knowledge on the subject. This kind of information is very beneficial. Now to the point... If you don't mind, what set of wheels are these? Rota Formula wheels? Also, you say the tire was a 255. Is this 255/35R18? I want to keep stock suspension/height. I'm assuming this car was lowered. I shouldn't have any issues with this selection of wheels/tires on stock height should I? Thanks for the help. I really like this setup, but after reading some more its not preferred because of the handling loss (roll on corners). I would hate to diminish my handling, but how much worse is it? I see a 245/40R18 is recommended on an 18x8" wheel. I wish I could see in comparison...

Alright.. I've been using a tire calculator all last night and today, and running out to measure wheel distances... and I just want to know what people think.
So I'm looking at getting some wheels made, and the company claims that any size/fitment is possible, so now I'm toying with offset. Wheels and suspension are all stock right now, so 235/45/R17 +53 on 17x8 wheels Possibility: OEM tires (for now) on 17x9 +44 According to tirerack, the factory Dunlops are recommended for 7.5-9" wheels, so I shouldn't be in any kind of dangerous stretch territory until I can afford some decent rubber. What I'm wondering is if that offset will be low enough to fill the wheel wells nicely. According to an offset calculator, the new wheels would stick out 22mm, or just over 3/4". However when I put in some of the wheel specs I see on here that look good, people are sitting out 1-1.5". Thoughts? (if it matters, this is my DD that see's mostly city, and some gravel. Also used for auto-x) |

SECOND: I bumped my post after ~19 hours (a day in actual time), not hours like you stated. Again, I don't find this unreasonable. THIRD: I read the 1st page 10x times (not joking) and have not read or seen anything addressing my specific question for fitment of these specific wheels on stock suspension. If I did miss something please point it out for me. Much appreciated! |

I have a 2011 STI hatch, but fitment will be the same. I recently purchased a used set of Work 11r's in 18x9.5 +38 mm w/ Dunlop Z2 255/35's. I also have coilovers and adjustable control arms sitting in the garage. If I roll the rears could I get low enough to barely tuck the tire in the wheel well?

Depending on those tires I'd say u r good for just a rear fender roll unless u r slammed then I'd say u would want some camber correction or some rear fender pull as well. |

17x10 offset not sure.
I want custom made rpf1 in blanks can it be done? I laff now but hey beats buying works right now and in 18's. If its not poosible 17x9.5 offset +42 is what i guess ill stick w if i cant do x10. Probably need spacers and a bit of pull. I heard this could cause wheel bearing failure? Not looking for slammed/stance/tuck MOAR AGGRESSIVE! |

Please keep this thread on-topic. The topic is wheel fitment, not wheel shopping, wheel manufacturering, or...

I am looking to run 19x9 +43 (smoking deal on a wheel set) on a 13 WRX hatch with stock suspension/stock brakes. I plan to roll the rears and hope that setup and offset would keep the tire fairly flush? Would anyone know if this setup would require spacers? Also on that same wheel what would most guys run for tire size (do not want to look stretched) assuming this is even a possible setup for this car? 265/35R19?? I want nice grip without a ton of change in the steering feel and dynamics.

Depending on what tire you choose as well will affect how well it fits on the wheel too as some tires are wider/narrower than others. A 265 Michelin Pilot Super Sport for example would probably look a little big for the wheel. I would recommend going with an 18" wheel with a 35series tire to give a little more comfortable ride. Especially with the stock rotors that are pitifully small to begin with :-/ |

Have: oem 235/45r17 on stock rims (2011 wrx 4dr)
Want A: 235/40r17 stock rims Want B: 245/40r17 stock rims Will either A or B be fit fine? The car is stock right now, and will be for a while, just need new tires and want to get something good. 255/40r17 would be too much? Last edited by Kostya; 08-20-2013 at 01:29 PM. |

Rota Grids
I was planning on running a set of Rota Grids 17x9 5x100 +42 with 245/40-17 tires on my 2013 WRX, from what I have read it looks like there should be no issues but mainly the tire size is what I was wondering about.
