I am gonna go ahead and say the 17" P1's WON'T fit. I am also figuring this is why Prodrive made the wheel listed below, in which the wheel was specifically designed for the STi in mind:

You list Advan RG = 17x8.5_ET43__(16.5 lbs) as fitting.

Any ideas if this will fit (advan rg's)? 17x7.5 5x100 48mm

I know these fit....Racing Hart CP-035R's! That is one deep lip. I know one of the guys that works for Nukabe(Official US distributor for Cusco) here in Illinois. I asked him to get me the specs on the wheel. These shots were taken here in Matoon, IL. Some of the big boys came from Japan to test it out!

Pictured below are the guys from Cusco:

Left to Right

A. Aoki (R&D engineer)
H. Yanagisawa (Engineer and currently #6 ranked Rally driver in Japan)
T. Nagase (Da man... and former All Japan Gymkhana Champion.. with an EG6)
Tetsuo Nishida (Nukabe Japan)

First time in a left hand drive car... not bad... huh?

Hey Broadfield,

Awesome post. What are the specs on that wheel (width, diameter, offset, weight). It would have been great to be there to see that.

Oh, and is that R&D engineer as young as he looks? That would be such a great job

Rick

p.s. philw007, sorry I don't think they fit I saw a post somewhere stating this from WorldOne.

Darn...don't fit? I thought with the specs similar to the rota's that they might fit... Anyone else think they will fit / won't fit?

philw007, the specs maybe similiar but that isn't everything. It not only depends on offset and width but the actual spoke design and how the spokes tapper, arc & curve from the the center of the hub. This is why the RG's in the 17" won't fit, they simply won't clear the Brembo caliper.

Can someone please expalin the offset concept. The OEM wheels are + 53 offset but the non oem wheels like Advans, rays are + 38 to + 50 offset. Will these clear the brembos. Too many options to look for.

This is why some wheels just won't fit, they simply won't clear the Brembo caliper.

You can add my Enkei ES-Tarmac's to the list:

17x9" et50
17x8.5" et48

Both will clear the front brakes. Roughly 16 lb and $1300 a set shipped EMS from Japan.

The Enkei ES-Tarmacs are a JDM only wheels so you would have to get in contact with a comany here that could import wheels or get in touch with a Enkei supplier in Japan. Best bet would be to PM Kevin since he has them already on his STi.

Don't PM me about the wheels:

http://www.irs.co.jp

Contacted them by email, faxed them my credit card number. They had the wheels in stock and sold them to me for about 25% off retail. Air freight (EMS) shipping from japan was about $350, and I had the wheels in about 3 days. I paid about $1200 total, exchange rates have driven the total to about $1300 recently.

Oh, and they are only available in white.

Kevin...

You say that both the 8.5s and the 9s will clear the front brembos, but have you tried to fit the 9s in the rear? I have read your posts and am aware of the various changes you had to make to get the 8.5s to fit with the 255s without rubbing yet you have never mentioned from what I have been able to find in your posts if you attempted to run the 9s in the rear...reason I ask is because I want to run 9s all round...

If you don't see a wheel/offset listed that you KNOW fits the STi please post it, and I will update the list as more wheels come available. I too am still waiting to here back from a few manufactures as to other wheels that fit, and I will update accordingly after I get responses.

Enjoy,

p.s. This list was compiled using fellow Nasioc members posts (members that actually have these wheels on Sti's) as well as some of the manufactures fitment guides.
I must be blind please point out Racing Hart CP-035R's in this post...and wheel specific info on the Black Cusco Sti pictured...

I was just saying that I had posted that same car at the top of page 2 with the info that they are CP-035R's . I have not heard back from my contact on the specs of the wheel seeing as he is at SEMA. I will post as soon as I find out. Sorry, I was confused on what you were asking!
