Hey everyone, I'm sure this has been answered. I just picked up a STOCK 04 GD. I'm looking to get the most aggressive look but not roll and pull fenders. I've been reading and researching and I think this will work but I am hoping someone can confirm.

Rota Grid
17x8 +44
Or
17x9 +42

Car will soon be on coilovers and ideally the fender just above the tire

Will either of these rub? Also, what tire size would be used for a spirited, functional weekend use car?

Thank you

This is not possible. If you want the "MOST" aggressive look you will need roll/pull fenders. GD chassis doesn't have that much clearance.

245/40 is prob your best bet, and you will rub depending on how low you go. Unless you want to stretch tire then you can use your best judgement on previous setups.

Default 17x8 + 53 wrx wheels on 2015 Impreza

This forum is mostly WRX models and cant find the fitment I'm looking for.

anyone running any wrx wheels on a newer Impreza?

I'm looking at running the 17x8 +53 with either 215 or 225 on a 2015 Impreza, stock wheel/tire is a 17x7 +48 205/50.

Concerned with contact at the strut with the wheels pushed in further

I guess I wasn稚 explaining myself correctly. I知 looking for wheel fitments that I won稚 have to roll my fenders with being lowered to a finger gap or so

Probably better forget about "aggressive" defined as "flush" . . .

With that being said what can I fit with the lowest offset? I知 not opposed to rolling after reading about it. I知 just terrified trying to roll 16 year old paint, even after heating. Am I nuts? I guess I should add that I have a set of ISC coils waiting to go on the car

Hopefully somebody who is more appearance-centered than I will be able to help you with that. Especially once more than a truly minimal amount of lowering is envisioned (like 15mm or less).

I get your concern with respect to rolling and old paint. I wouldn't want to do that either.

2009 WRX hatch
Volk ce28 18x8.5 +44
235/40/18 tire
All stock except 4pot swap
Will the volks clear the front fenders of the narrowbody? I know width is pushing it, my 17x8 +45 barely clear up front.
Ideally looking for functional fitment with a slight drop in the future.

Does anyone know if the 2014 stock WRX wheels and tires will fit on a 2002 Impreza sport? I'm more concerned about the width of the wheel and if it will fit in the wheel well w/o contacting during turning

2014 WRX Wheels/tires
-5x100 bolt pattern
-Wheel: 17"
-Tire: 235/45/R17

2002 Impreza Sport
-5x100 bolt pattern
-Wheel: 16"
-Tire: 205/55/R16

Thanks!!

Those wheels are a whole inch past the max recommended width for that tire size. I like a little 'stretch' for cornering crispness, but that much is just silly.

tire brand/model: Not sure yet - performance summer tires

fender mods: Able to roll fenders, I don't want to pull or do anything that would damage the paint
spacers: If needed

I also have FHI 4pot/2pot brakes so need to clear those. I'm looking for a track fitment for performance summer tires, so I'm looking to go as wide as I can without messing up the fenders basically. Looking at 245/35/18's for the width, but not sure about clearance. 235/40 throws off the size of the tire a bit, and I think 225/40 will just be too narrow for an 8.75.

Edit: I'm looking at ESR SR12's now in 18x8.5 +35. I think they will fit better and are a nicer wheel

Default 2020 WRX Limited 18x9.5 +35

I am looking at getting some new wheels later this year when I switch my stock wheels over to having snow tires. I currently have the stock wheels and tires on it which are 18"x8.5" +55mm with 245/40R18 tires.

year: 2020
model: WRX Limited
wheel model: Momo Catania
wheel size/offset: 18"x9.5" +35mm
tire brand/model: Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S
tire size: would like to run xxx/40r18 or larger (dont really want to go down to 35's)
suspension: stock right now, may eventually go coilovers or rce yellows.
alignment: stock from dealer
fender mods: don't want to
spacers: yes/no? size? no

If needed, would possibly look at getting rear adjustable lca's if i need to introduce more camber to prevent rub. I am mainly asking what tire size would you run for no rubbing/scraping/etc.?

I assume you are running a GC chassis, correct?

The Agressive Wheel Fitment Thread over on RS25 leads me to believe you can run a 17x8+48 or 17x8+45 without too many issues.

Since you have coilovers...
Caution: Doing this will probably require the car to be realigned, but it will give you a good understanding of what you can fit.
1. While the car is sitting on flat ground measure the distance between either the wheel center or wheel lip edge to the fender edge - record that number. Do this for both the front and rear.
2. Lift the car or the corner high enough to remove the wheel. Support the car with jack stands and ensure its a safe working condition.
3. Remove the spring from that coilover strut. I'd remove the swaybar connection as well to remove all of the preload you can from the suspension.
4. Reinstall the wheel.
5. Measure the gap between the wheel lip edge to the coilover as well as the tire inner edge to the coilover. This will help you look at offset options.
6. Place a jack under the knuckle and lift it until you reach the correct wheel height from your initial measurement.
7. Take measurements where you believe you will have clearance issues - fender rubbing, chassis rubbing, wheel liner rubbing, etc. In the front, turn the wheel from lock to lock to characterize your steering angle clearances. Keep in mind that the wheel and tire will only change dimensions radially or axially, so try to measure only in these directions.
8. Carefully use the jack to raise or lower the position of the wheel (from the knuckle) and continue to take measurements on the clearance issue areas. Again, check steering angle clearances as well. This will show you what issues you will have through the suspension travel.
9. You can now use these measurements to determine what the clearance issues would look like with a different wheel or tire. Ex: If you have 20mm of clearance between the wheel, or tire, and strut with 10mm of clearance from the wheel, or tire, to the fender then you know you can run a wider wheel (less than 30mm) and an additional 5mm of offset to center the wheel. Wheel spacers can help tune offset as long as you have enough thread engagement on your wheel nuts.

I've done this for all of my fitment concerns and have been able to run some great wheel/tire combos without problems for many years.

Should the clearance measurements for both driver and passenger side always match? I'm planning to walk through the process you've provided and 7 and 8 just raised some questions on my end.

The measurements should generally match from side to side, yes. However, the measurement from the wheel/tire to the chassis will differ in rear because of the fuel fill tube.

In theory, they should . . . but since everything is subject to fabrication/build tolerances I would never count on side to side measurements matching exactly.

This gets more important as the wheel width you want to use grows wider.

ok so i'm looking for a bit of help/info here. i have found a set of LIC rear flares for my 2006 sti. I track the car and i know the rears will accommodate 275s with ease. however, i am trying to decide what size wheel and tire to pickup for the fronts. I would like to pickup RPF1s. and run them in 18x9.5 or 18x10 with a 265-275 tire. I do track the car, so I will need to pickup a set that will be functional. How wide can I go up front (willing to run -3 ish deg camber) on my sti? and should i be looking at the 9.5+38 (will need 10mm spacer to clear brembos, so effectively +28) or should i look at the 10s+38, which will only need a 3mm spacer. or will the 9.5+15 be able to fit properly (no spacer required). i am more than willing to either run the seibon +10mm carbon fenders or modify the heck out of my oem ones. i just want to get the right size and offset the first time so i dont have to do this multiple times.

note: i am also willing to run work emotion zr10 which would be in 18x9.5 with a +38, +30, +22, or a +12.
