How much did Outback Sport differ from Premium Wagon? Why was the Crosstrek born?
So there was this interesting post deep in the forums... and I found this thread.
https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=157840 But it got me wondering, what exactly was different between the 2.5i Premium and the Outback Sport in the 3rd gen? Did it really warrant another model vs. just a trim? I understand the marketing reason, like how the Outback and Outback Sport could be mixed up as trim upgrades... but then again, how much did the Crosstrek XV in '11 then change over the Outback Sport (over sweet ass wheels)? The more technical the better. Want to do some learning today! |

This is a good question I want to see what others have to say because I don’t know much about the outback vs outback sport differences.
All I know is the crosstrek is super popular |

I only know what I got from cars101 - https://www.cars101.com/subaru/impre...tml#ob%20sport
I know there are some suspension tweaks too. But it would be nice to know what would need to be specifically changed on a 2.5i Premium to get to an Outback Sport... and then what more would need to change it into a Crosstrek XV. |

They are different body styles. Not sure what you mean to switch it over.
If you mean from the 4th gen Impreza to crosstrek it’s not a whole lot. |

I have a 2008 Impreza Sport, seems to be exclusive trim to Canada.
It has: 5 doors EJ253, 4EAT 285mm rear disc brakes Rear diffuser, side skirts, spoiler Fog lamps, Black head lights Heated seats, mirrors, windshield 16" twelve spoke wheels Thule Aeroblades (option?) No two tone paint or "Outback" moniker like the US version. It's a sharp looking car for sure. |

Good to know what the Impreza Sport is... I belive they are also available in Mexico.
Was wondering more so about the Impreza-based Ouback Sport, since I was hoping to mod/soup up to there from Premium... Quote:
