I used the STI cross member with no issues, just obviously need to use the six speed trans mount.

I'm not too sure what difference there is in the cross members for the new body style but I can confirm that the new STI cross member works on the older WRXs. I do not know if the new WRX cross member will fit on the older WRXs.

Now I'm not sure how active this thread is anymore, but I've run into some issues on my 6-speed swap. I've got a 2012 wrx widebody with the "V8 jdmi sti" transmission, r180, and driveshaft. The issue I have run into is the axels and driveshaft are too short to fit into my wrx hubs. The driveshaft is also to short to fit my question is what are my options moving forward for the axels and driveshaft?

This is super interesting. Giving me ideas on what to do with my wrx in the future.

Version 8 sti was a GD Impreza, yours is a GR. You will need to find axels and driveshaft from a GR Impreza

Would this work relatively the same in a 05 WRX aside from needing the VSSpro adapter?
