Anybody ever have work done by Bill Springfield? http://www.triggerwork.net/usp.html

$60 to shorten trigger reset by "up to 40%" on the P2000.

9mm, no I got 2 mags, the short, and the extended grip +1. I got the gun discounted quite a bit, can't complain.

Nothing wrong with that. If it's anything like the Shield .40 I've shot in the past, I think you'll like how soft shooting it is.

So here's the pin that came with my Geissele SSA next to one of the pins Geissele sent me as a replacement.

The packaged pin is approximately ~0.840" long and the replacement (matches the ALG trigger pins I was previously using) is ~0.899" long. Anyone know if there's fake Geissele triggers going around?

Didn't try orange hand degreaser, but I did try Purple Power Citrus Cleaner/Degreaser to no effect.

Sonic cleaner is too rich for my blood.

Maybe I'll try the dishwasher as a last resort, but I'm a little hesitant.

Bad link. Assuming you emailed the picture to yourself from the url; you have to right click and "Copy Image URL" or "Open Image in New Tab/Window/Whatever", then copy the url from the address bar. You pasted the 'protected' link, but the image isn't public, so you need the direct file address.

Fake triggers wouldn't surprise me at all, but I have no idea.

Fixt. Geissele says it's definitely on of their triggers.

For all of you rich guys; Vance has the Sig MPX in stock: http://www.vanceoutdoors.com/product...ampaign=041015

So I noticed something kinda bad at the range a few days ago and forgot to mention it here. Since taking the class and doing so much dry practice with the P2000, I've gotten so used to the paddle mag release that every time my Glock ran dry at the range, I'd reach down with my trigger finger to eject the mag, obviously hitting empty space since... it's the stupid button.

Of course the easy suggestion is "train more with the Glock", but all of my handguns (Walther & HK) have the paddle release now, except the Glock, so it almost seems silly to do that. I've just done some experimenting, and if I grip the gun with my left hand, I can use the same motion with my trigger finger to eject the mag on all of my guns. Because of this I'm wondering if it would be worth selling/trading into a Gen 4 and reversing the mag catch to be 'left-handed', for a more consistent manual of arms between my guns.

I've got two triggers for my AR's I've had him work on, and I wont use them. One of them doubles very consistently, and the other one I never got around to installing.

They'll probably sit in my parts pile until the end of time.

I've never had him work on any other triggers.

Went skeet shooting today for the first time ever. Didn't do too bad I think with hitting 10 of 25.

The only longer barrel shotgun I have is a 870 in 20 gauge, which was rather pleasant to run. Although I think I'm going to pick up a lightly used 28" field barrel for my Savage 320 and use that from now on.

Definitely a fun way to kill a lunch hour.

That's really a shame. I wonder what happened. Most of the reviews from 6 or 7 years ago are really positive. Oh well.. Thanks for sharing! I'll definitely not be having any work done...

Going to pop my competition cherry tomorrow!

The class instructor pointed me towards these guys, it's only $15 and steel crap ammo is OK, so it will end up being cheaper than a crappy static range trip.

http://www.dallaspistolclub.com/personalprotection.php

It's only $5 extra to run a second gun. I might have a Glock/P2000 showdown.

Or maybe a Glock/PPQ showdown, since I messed around today and finally set up one of my Alien Gear's for the PPQ and then carried it for the first time. It's ~97% as concealable as the Glock '19' and P2000... Decisions, decisions..

If I do run 2 guns, I'll probably go Glock/P2000, though, if nothing else just because I have a proper OWB holster for both, where my PPQ OWB holster is the new Alien Gear thing that I hate. I love their IWB stuff, and use it almost exclusively these days, but this thing is a terrible idea.

EDIT: Just heard that tomorrow's match has no drawing from the holster, so now I can't decide which gun(s) to shoot since I'm no longer limited.

I bet I know what tobylazur would recommend shooting, though.

Cheaper and more challenging fun with the 20, especially in a pump. If you hit 10/25 on the first go then save the 12 for those who need the extra lead.

Right now I think I am most comfortable with the P2000; but I am torn between running that because I'm comfortable with it, and running the Glock to give it a "real" trial run outside of a static range finally, and see if the more consistent trigger pull really erodes my confidence in the P2000.

If I have the chance to run 2 guns (website says you usually can, for $5 more, but who knows), it makes the most sense to run those two...

... But I also really want to see what the PPQ can do, since it's arguably the best-suited gun I have for this type of thing and especially now that I know that I can conceal it, making it also in the race to be my carry gun. I've only sent ~70 rounds through it, though, so even though it has the best trigger, my confidence isn't high with it.

I know I won't be competitive, anyway, so my choice literally doesn't matter. But my concerns are if I go PPQ/P2000, and I do better and feel more confident and do better with the P2000, then I didn't give 'striker-fired' a fair chance due to shooting essentially a 'new-to-me' gun. PPQ/Glock will give no insight as to whether I can adapt to DA/SA and perform, or if I really should stick to striker/DAO for carry and training. Glock/P2000, I'll just miss out on the fun of shooting the PPQ.

I think I'll go Glock only, or Glock/P2000. Unless my crazy Glock stippling and barrel conversion and whatnot put me in some silly class (if there are classes), then I'll shoot the PPQ instead.

TL;DR: I suck at decisions and over think things because I'm excited to finally shoot a comp. Ignore my ramblings, especially since I'm mostly just repeating my last post.

Found video of 2 stages of last November's "Personal Protection Match"

Whoa whoa whoa. That could get messy!

If you can try two then go for it. You'll probably be quicker the second time through no matter which gun it is. Go have fun and tell us what you think. Pretty sure Rob Leatham could spank us all with a dart gun so I doubt the gun is the major factor here .

I feel bad hating on fellow IDPA shooters but I have no tolerance for stupidity.

Classifier day...loading mags between strings. Hogging the rolls of tape. Attempting to shoot wadcutters from a garbage 1911 (and saying "this gun shoots like a sewing machine" after a dozen failures to feed).

Cheaper? Around here 20 gauge ammo is way more than 12 gauge fodder.

Just a heads up, Sportsman's Guide has PMC X Tac on sale for right around .35 cents a round shipped. It's on backorder, expected in a week or two but still a good deal for anyone looking.
