Subaru outback xt 2009 5mt
hey guys so i was replacing my front diff axle seals today and totaly managed to destory the retainer ring that the diff seal sits in. i tried some stupid method i learned when working on my miatas to remove seals with a specialized tool and it basically wrecked the mating surface in two spots. now under load it sprays gear oil through that area.
my question is: Is it possible to replace the retaining/preload ring without messing up the preload. obviously i would mark the location and match up once out of car. the car as 170k on current 5mt and shifts like brand new. trying to keep it that way! iv'e included the part in question to hopefully make what im asking more clear: https://ibb.co/GxkKjWk that is the ring im trying to replace with a new unit
