Is it just me, or does it appear that the carbon roof panel is actually a false roof, and there is a steel structure below it?

I think most CF body panels are skin only versus structural.

Yeah, this video shows a carbon fiber panel being attached to some sort of steel structural panel on an RS5. (visible starting 0:25) I had assumed that CF roofs were just the outside shell being replaced, not the actual structural steel members.

Really? Carbon replaces sheet metal roof panel. It doesn't replace the safety ring on the B and or C pillar.

Cool do you know where in Japan? I worked in Kofu for 6 months and had a Corolla company car. The roads outside of big cities are amazing. Not crowded, super smooth and nice scenery. Driving in Tokyo however is not fun.
We’re moving to Taiwan for a work assignment, but seems like no GR4. My kids wouldn’t fit in it anyway I’d guess, and the cars would probably cost $60k in Taiwan.

Nagoya area most likely. Still very hypothetical at this point but I officially made the request in my performance review a few months back.

Kofu looks super close to Mt Fuji. I rode my bike around the lakes north of Fuji and up to Subaru 5th Station back in 2017. I want to hike to the summit at some point.

Cool, I haven't been to Nagoya but it's central to cool places, Japan sea and Kanazawa to the north, Kyoto is not too far, and the mountains are just north of you.

Hiked Mt. Fuji in college, that's a tough hike, and I was in great shape, we saw lot of college kids from our group puking on the way up. We did the overnight hike, started like midnight, made it to the summit at like 4:30 AM, never saw the sunrise cause it was too cloudy, and it was freezing at the top in August. It's one of those "never again" experiences you have to do once.

If you can get an ex-pat package you should totally do it.

Fuji isn't that bad, the baba's running up it should serve as a motivator if a person is feeling weak.

Default Litchfield’s Boosted Toyota GR Yaris: What’s It Like Driving The World’s Most Powerfu

I figured Torquey would have it posted already. Eh throw up anyway
Quote:
Litchfield's Boosted Toyota GR Yaris: What's It Like Driving The World's Most Powerful 3-Cylinder Car?

The Toyota GR Yaris is a great performance car and, at the same time, a magnet for tuners like Litchfield.

Not long after customer deliveries of the GR Yaris began in the UK, the British tuner started to work its magic on the hot hatch and in this review, we get to see what the finished product is like.

The most significant alteration made to the GR Yaris is the fitment of a new tuning box that boosts the 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder to a touch over 300 hp. This tune won’t put a serious dent in the wallet of GR Yaris owners either as it only costs about £600 ($850).

Watch Also: Litchfield Has Made The Toyota GR Yaris Even Better With 300 Hp From Its 3-Cylinder Turbo.

Litchfield has also made some other changes to the car featured in this review from Carfection. For example, it features two-way adjustable Nitron dampers with lowered springs that improve the handling without ruining the ride. The resonator has also been removed from the standard exhaust to improve the soundtrack.

Elsewhere, the hot hatch’s ride height has been dropped and 20 mm wheel spacers have been fitted to improve the car’s stance on the road. It has also been wrapped in a shade of dark green and Litchfield has fitted new seat rails that drop the hip point of the seats by 40 mm, a simple modification that no doubt has a transformative effect on how the car feels to drive.

The review concludes that all of these changes result in a car that feels more grown-up and complete than a standard GR Yaris. The host adds that not only is it faster in a straight line, but it also handles better.

Giant rally sedans are all the rage and didn't go way of the dodo as previously thought.

OHHHH NO!!!!

Toyota gonna rain in on the Subaru WRX and STI party?

A more radical WRC inspired Yaris!!!!!!!!

Give me a WRX with plastic cladding and a wilderness badge, a stuffed dog toy wearing a "love" dog tag in the trunk.

Funny thing is the STI is essentially a North American car now as the Americas account for 70% of their business and has completely vacated Europe. Toyota seems to offer the Yaris GR-4 to most continents except North America so really outside of Japan and a small handful of other countries, these cars are destined to never compete against each other.
