Default Spy.. New Dodge Hornet

Quote:
Here is the best look yet at Dodge’s upcoming compact car, which will got head-to-head with the likes of the Honda Civic, Hyundia Elantra, Ford Focus, Toyota corolla and Chevrolet Cruze. If the Dodge Hornet looks very familiar that’s because it is essentially a rebadged Alfa Romeo Giulietta. This isn’t a bad thing because the Giulietta is a very good looking car. Even Dodge’s cross-hair grill doesn’t look too out of place. Like the Ford Focus, the Dodge Hornet will most likely come in both sedan and hatchback version. The spyshot is of the sedan.

I saw a small Alfa hatchback looking thing behind me the other day on Beverly Glen. It was all camouflaged etc. I tried to take a pic but my stupid camera phone is so slow!

I think it was this one

Crossing an alfa with a dodge is like making scarlet j. Have a baby with a homeless crackhead. That god awful crosshairs grill is totally out of place on the lines of that car. They need to just kill off dodge and sell alfas.

I would much prefer this. But, if it looks halfway decent, and drives like a dream I could overlook the fact that I'd be driving the worst American brand [for MODERN cars, IMO] ever.

QFT. But I've gotta say, the dodge doesn't look all that bad.

Just think of it as a stimulus for aftermarket Alfa body kit industry. I've never put any kind of cosmetic kits on my car, but if I owned one of these, I would be mighty tempted to turn it into a Giulietta.

This ruins the appeal of the Alfa, in my eyes. Why would I want a car (the Alfa Guiletta) that everyone thinks is just a tarted-up Dodge? The only way a Hornet (and whatever the Dodge/Chrysler high-volume model ends up being) doesn't kill the Alfa market is if the Hornet has utterly different sheetmetal.

I, for one, think it looks alright... that said, the 1.4l-ish engine and inevitable FWD will spoil the deal.

So they'll look at the MGP numbers on those cars and minus at least 5 maybe 10mpg off the field. Meanwhile maintain ****ty as can be performance and looks.

It's more like Scarlett J. and I had a baby( ) and the homeless man adopted it and dressed it.

You realize where you are right? The very fact that you participate in a car forum means that you know more about cars than the average person. In a world where people don't know camrys and es300s are the same car, and people can't tell that the VW Routan and the Dodge Caravan are the same van, I doubt they even [i]know[/] about the Alfa link to Dodge. Or that Alfa owns dodge.

The only people who will know are people who also know that it's the other way around. The dodge is based on the alfa.

Only enthusiasts buy Alfas. Especially in America.

They'll know.

Like all of Dodge's vehicles, Mexico will be the point of assembly.

Just look what has been assembled there:
