Exactly.

I like not having to worry about the lights being left on, etc.... My wife needed to have her old Ford jumped several times a year due to her not paying attention, got her a OBS and no more dead batteries!

Oh, and I suppose I should add my wish list

4.44 final drive for the STi

Factory optional 16 in wheels that will clear the Brembo brakes (steelies? they would be for winter use, obviously)

Open up the acecssory catalogue. If I want a JDM only part I have to go through a third party vendor just to get it. At least allow the dealer to call to Atlanta with the part # only to get the part, no VIN # hope or prayer needed! I know we brought it up at the last council meeting!!!

More SPT branded parts. The intake is a huge success, ride the wave! I had to call certain individuals to get some missing parts and heard a rumour about other parts being considered, make it happen!

More performance accessories for the Forester (we have what, the springs and lateral links?)

Competition catalogue ala NISMO and TRD with STi GrpN homologation and race only parts. (again, I know some stuff is available, but what about the STi power steering pump? The roof scoop? wheres the 15in gravel wheels?)

More of the Euro/Aussie/JDM accessories. Waist spoilers,lips, etc...

Rain visors and headlamp covers! Come on! Remember the 80's? You couldn't keep them in stock!

Manual transmission standard on all models (yes, even the Tribeca) with the automatic as an option. 5EAT for the non-turbo DSG or a 6EAT for the Turbo/6cylinder engines.

Nicer carpeting. I recently took an Infiniti M45 out for a spin and I swear to God the carpeting had to be a foot deep! Put the Subaru stars embroidered into the carpeting and make black the standard colour with cream being a special order (gets dirty if you look at it wrong)

Choice on interior colour. I want a black interior (or red like the SpecB bring that back!) Also offer a black out STi interior.

Offer all STi versions in wagon form.

Offer green on turbo models (acadia green)

Offer multiple spoilers for the WRX, perhaps wingless, STi limited, STi and maybe a S204 spoiler

Open up the colour pallete and make all colours available on all trim levels within the model line (helps reduce cost as well, don't think so?)

Sedona red
Black
White
Silver
A real Grey (nice and dark)
Green
Orange (not kidding here)
Yellow
Purple (again, not kidding)
Cheery Blossom Red ( I would really like to see that )
Offer replacement panels as pre-painted. Very few dealers (at least in my area) have a body shop. Offer the panels as pre-painted from the factory and you will be able to charge a premium as well!

Better clutch feel on performance oriented cars. Come on guys, the Legacy GT and WRX feel so damned light you can hardly feel the engagement point. I have a feeling there will be many fried clutches under warranty in the coming years.

Better brake feel

Offer the 4pots on all performance models, at least as an option.
Also, offer the upgraded brake pads from STi, I know I said it earlier but those should be in the SPT catalogue. Brake pad upgrades would be quite popular.

Offer hats and T-shirts in the SPT catalogue as well.

Speaking of the SPT catalogue, we have the brochures touting the 2006 performance parts catalogue, when will we see those? Perhaps also offer some STi or SPT post it notes to dealer. We had the wanna race ones for awhile but those are gone. It just looks cooler when we had a price over to the customer on something performance related.

List the MSRP and the part # (or at least the part #) on the same page as the part picture and description.

Offer more of the old accessories for older models (older body Forester grille for example) or at least make them available. You really missed out when you did not offer a STi scoop in the parts catalogue for the 02-03 WRX (but hey you offered one when the scoop was already available for the 04 STi )

As someone who has been driving a WRX for over four years now, here is what I wish my car had:

Adjustable lumbar support in the seat
Better paint!! My door handles have all kinds of scratches on them from fingernails hitting them.
Split folding rear seats
Telescoping steering wheel

Since I would like my next vehicle to be a Subaru, I would like to see:

STI wagon - I have a sedan now, and I can't see myself ever buying another one. Wagons are just SOO much more practical.

When the time comes to purchase my next vehicle I will be purchasing whatever offers the best high-performance wagon value. I think Subaru could easily be very competitive in this arena, but so far have chosen not to. Subaru has oriented itself to serve niche markets, which is exactly what a high-performance wagon is.

I've got a '04 WRX and an '06 Outback (my wife's car primarily) and I'd really like to see a hybrid Forester or Outback option. We love our Subies but Toyotas are looking better and better for the family car than the Outback unless Subaru can get a hybrid drive together. The Rav4 hybrid (I'm not crazy enough to even think about the Escape) could easily replace the Outback and save us a lot on gas costs which are only going to keep going up.

As for the performance end, I'm already eyeing the '08 Legacy Spec B as a possible WRX replacement and so I know the Legacy STi would be a much coveted car.

Having the performance/economy switch that the 07 Legacy has should be in all cars. When I'm commuting to work I definately do not need all of the 240hp I have considering I make the same time whether I'm driving my WRX or riding my bike! I basically need 1 person-power to get to work and would love to be able to easily switch my WRX into creeping along on little gas mode.

My next car will be smaller, lighter, and more fuel efficient than my WRX wagon. I'd like a small Subaru hatchback please, and not a slow one either.

MORE OPTIONS!

If you're not going to let me buy an STi wagon, at least let me have the option of adding the 6MT, DCCD, or uprated spring/struts to a WRX wagon.

+1 for iPod connection, but as an option.

5-door STI (any platform, at least 300hp) with capability to use both 16" street rims and 15" rally rims (it can come stock with larger rims so long as the smaller ones can fit).

6MT (close ratio 5 with an overdrive 6th for freeway cruising) and/or a real DSG tranny (not an automatic with paddles). A final drive ratio that isn't a disgrace. DCCD with a front LSD would be best.

Quick steering ratio.

Seats that fit people who weigh under 180 pounds. Real seat bolsters narrow enough for the non-obese. I'm 30 pounds overweight and my ass is still too small for any Subaru seats larger/later than the US '02 WRX.

No power seats unless they have memory. I'd prefer unpowered yet highly adjustable seats, however.

HIDs. Split fold-down rear seats. Telescoping steering wheel.

I hope Subaru listens this time.

I just bought an 06 WRX. Things I'd like to see to repeat the purchase in a few years:

STI WRX Wagon (or ability to option up - 6-speed, brembos, etc)

Accessory power after key-off - I hate that I can't roll the windows up without having the key in the "run" position, instead of either a)accessory or even b)with the key off, before the doors are open (a-la some GM vehicles).

Dog gate accessory?

Telescoping wheel.

Unlike some, I don't want a DSG/manumatic transmission. Save the cash, give me better brakes and suspension. If I wanted an automatic, I would have bought one.

I-pod input.

Extension of factory warranty to dealer installed SPT parts (like springs, and intakes) - cover these under the 3/36 warranty!

Stella or small entry level vehicle to compete with Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris, Nissan Versa that offers standard AWD.

Before I start, I think Subarus are great driving cars, but if they can improve these areas, I am sure they will appeal to more consumers.

Impreza: Needs telescopic steering wheel or create more legroom for the driver in turn it will also create more room for the rear passenger. Needs better audio system. Needs to be a bit bigger. With the gas price now, needs better fuel economy new cars especially on the base model.

Forester: Same as impreza

Legacy and Outback: The seats need to be higher. Again telescopic steering wheels or more legroom in the front. To be more specific, consumer will not be happy with left leg bending 90 degree and right leg bending 50 degree. Or do something with the left foot rest. More interior space for passenger without adding length to the cars. I guess the only way would be go higher. The opening for the rear door needs to be wider. It is hard for parents to carry baby in and out the cars

Tribeca: Need a bigger motor with more torque. Need an extended version for 7 passengers and create more cargo space for 5 passengers models.

Jon, turning the key to ACC does NOT give power to the windows. THAT is the most wanted feature for retained power.

Honda, Toyota, and others have had it for years. You can turn off the key and remove it from the ignition, and you can still listen to the radio or adjust the windows for 60 seconds, or until you open a door, then the power cuts off.

If Subaru retained power to the windows on ACC, that would be a large step in the right direction, but no, you have to put it in the RUN position to operate the windows.

There are some things Subaru does that others don't, like wipers on ACC, and cutting head/taillight power when turning off the key. Those things are really nice. Add the retained power option, and a whole bunch of Subie fans will be really really happy!

The drive system seems similar to the I-drive setup for the Legacy... now doesn't it... I hope that makes it's way to the rest of the line-up I really like that feature...

Because "Limited" is Subaru speak for Leather, moonroof, & cold-weather package. Toyota does the same thing, as do some of the domestics. The days of a LGT for WRX money are long gone, now if the WRX and Legacy drop in price

two things. very simple additions to the STI, WRX and RS (heck even the legacy) that will not cost an arm or a leg to develop or implement.

1) better fender braces. they are as soft as butter

2) put in an "ALK" with compliant rubber bushings.

both mods can vastly imporve handling, get rid of the understeer without compromising road behavior or harsness.

and of course. with these already on the car from the factory, It wouldnt bump me into a higher class in SCCA

Both of those parts are available from Subaru already.

The Transverse link bushings look identical to the standard unit and the fender braces, well no-one is going to see them anyway

More stuff to add.

Climate control that works. My Forester seems to love to blast the AC when I have the heater set to 80 with the heated seats on. Not very nice when you have been standing outside in sub-zero temps watching pro-rally.

The heated seat switch from the Outback in all models. (5 way adjustable!)

Make the heated seats seperate. My back is generally covered in a Jacket in the winter, whereas my bum is covered by pants. Let me set my back temp higher so I don't have to scorch my bum

Leather option in the Impreza (not WRX) I have had many customers ask for this.

Side mirrors angle downward when backing up. Drive a Hyundai and understand what I mean. It is great when you are parking next to a curb.

Gun rack option for the BAJA

Allow individual options without having to buy a package. 5speed Forester turbo with a moonroof and no leather?

60/40 split seat on all sedans

Rear heated seats

Rear DVD on all models

NAV on all models

Sportier factory exhaust note. Take a listen to a Nissan product. The 350Z/G35 M45 and FXQ (whatever letter/number combo the SUV is)

Stick to names, not letter/number combos (see my confusion above)

Electro-luminescent guages (Legacy/B9) in all models.

Subaru should continue to build on the market they recognized with the WRX. In the sunbelt, I personally have no real weather-related need for AWD. I wanted it for the performance that it added.

Before the WRX, Subaru was never even on my radar. Now, as the proud owner of a Legacy GT, I see my Subaru as something of a BMW-lite; more akin maybe to a smaller G35 sedan. I would like to see my car become more sporty, with continued improvements in amenities. I would like to see stiffer suspension and shifter bushings in the turbo varient (don't water down your performance varient). I would like to see HID's and LED's in the Limited trim. Bluetooth and Navi are facts of life in 2006 and beyond, as is XM and Ipod. Subaru also needs more unique colors (have you seen Lexus lately?).

I dream of the power curve our 2.5l would produce with direct injection.

I love my Subaru; but as a loyal owner I can honestly say that I will only consider buying a Subaru as my next car if they continue to raise the bar and offer me a safe, attractive, sport sedan bargain.
