So after 4 months of waiting, my carbon fiber gurney flap arrived for the 2020 STi. Worth the wait in my opinion. High quality piece from Subispeed.

Anyone looking for a JDM Evo V, TopRank currently has one setup to import in 2023. Reserve it now before it’s gone.

Bought a new JDM STi mat for the Hawkeye. Took a few weeks to come in but acts as a good rear cargo mat. It’s more intended for VA chassis but fits fine in GD chassis as well.

Oh wow, no I didn’t pay that much. I think Rallysportdirect might have some for sale but be patient as they take a while to come in.

I was getting all stoaked on ordering it but I noticed it is a universal fit and doesn’t cover some of the wider trunk area. My enthusiasm died. Thank you.

Yeah, it’s not a good fit in comparison to an actual OEM trunk mat or weathertech mat. It’s more of a universal product. That being said, I do think it was more intended for VA chassis.

Went to a small car show while visiting fam in NY. It’s probably about time I pulled this car out of storage to stretch its legs some. My buddy with his WRB 04 STi accompanied as well as my younger brother and his genesis, the future of my family car culture.

Maintenance day yesterday. The bugeye was starting to develop a misfire under WOT. I had already replaced the spark plugs last month and knew they were not the issue as I checked the gap on them prior to install. So I ordered four new OEM Subaru coil packs and sure enough the misfire went away. The crates I purchased can be found on FastWRX.com Incase anyone is interested. I thought they’d look cool in my garage. Check out the 20 year old original coil packs… gross.

Update on some of the cars. The bugeye needed some new front cv axles on part because they had a tear in the boot for a while and I didn’t tend to it then when I noticed. So, I order some level 0 basic front axles from driveshaft shop. Couldn’t be happier with the quality on first impressions.

The Hawkeye has been my daily lately so figured I’d throw a photo of it up for the time being. The new clutch seems to be doing well and feels somewhat broken in now after about 2,500 miles (mostly all highway).

FYI, the hoods are slightly open on the cars in the garage as I have battery tenders on both of them.

Update:

So back in October I decided to part ways with my 2007 Impreza WRX limited. It was a good car for the most part but was getting up there in mileage and I have a 120 mile total round trip commute everyday. That Hawkeye served as my daily. I ended up loving the chassis of my VA STi that I picked up last year and wanted to give the new FA20 DIT a try so I located a new 2021 WRX in world rally blue of course in Palm Springs. I traded my 2007 WRX in that same day. Sad to see it go but I’m definitely liking my new purchase. Let’s hope this one last me many years as well. Cheers

Put stock wheels back on prior to trade in

Already started a few simple mods…

I added the Rally Armor UR mud flaps and the oem STi front lip.

Picked up the oem fog light kit as my car is a base model and didn’t come any fog lights.

I picked up some COBB/ weathertech collaboration floor mats for the new WRX. They are a nice touch inside the cabin I must say.

Damn! I missed this post about you trading in the '07 WRX Limited for a '21 WRX.

Congrats! I had my '07 WRX Limited from 2007-2014 (bought it brand new). I traded it in for a '15 WRX (bought in July '14)... Wish I would have never bought my '15 WRX. I guess maybe 1st year model issues? But I had around $16k in warranty work done to it. She was stock too. Well Nameless axleback but nothing else. Serious.

Besides a daily for the '21 WRX what are you plans for her?

Well I hope they’ve worked out the kinks by now. Sometimes new model years suffer from that. So far so good with it. Had it since October and already 5,300 miles on it! Bought it with 7 Miles. Only plans are literally what I’ve done so far, mud flaps, jdm oem rear fog light/brake light, all weather mats, fog light kit, front lip, and eventually tint most likely. I’d like to get a tame quad tip cat back for it as well at some point. Maybe HKS or Invidia Q300. I’ve got the 5 year warranty so no engine mods until after that.
