Thanks Samiam1017!
Currently I’m running 2 passenger side 240sx 6 bolt axles but my long term plan is convert the diff stubs to run 350z axles. I’m going to run standard coils. Airbags aren’t ideal for a drift car. I have some Raceland Ultimos on it right now so a big upgrade is definitely needed with this powerplant and weight changes.

Yeah the tires hit because of the ride height. I’m going to have to widen the a arms for angle clearance too because the tire hit the frame rail.

Thanks man!! I honestly haven’t added it up and I don’t think I want to know. Haha. Motor and trans alone was a pretty big bill. Good things is all the labor was done by me otherwise we’d be out of control. |

Whats Up Guys,
The shaving and metal work is finally done!!!!! The fab work and welding was super easy but all of the grinding, blending and smoothing took way longer than I would have thought. Anyways I have the body filler, seam sealer, and undercoat ready to go for the next step. I will be painting the engine bay white but I'm not sure what product I'm going to use yes. Ideally I'd like to use a 2 stage paint in subaru pure white color. but we'll see. I'm going to change the mounting places for the ecu, fuse box, proportioning valve, brake lines, and fuel lines to clean things up. |

Little work on the battery tray. Also where I’m going to mount the fuse box.

I'm still here...
Life has been really busy these days but, unfortunately not much work happening on the wagon. On 7-14-18 my wife gave birth our first child. His name is Axel and he's amazing!! I bought a Jeep truck that was in my family for a long time but had been out of the family for about 10 years and got an opportunity to get it back. I bought another 2.5rs. This one is a 4 door, so now I have a 2 and 4 door RS, and an OBS wagon. I built an expansion tank for my brothers shifter kart. I changed the ecu mount so now the air filter will mount above it and I think it will be much better looking since I shaved the towers. I mounted the fuse box also. the bracket isn't done being fitted but this is to give you the idea. Also the wiring will be tucked underneath the box. Last edited by 3mlwhly; 08-01-2018 at 11:19 AM. I'm following this thread because I recently converted my 2001 2.5RS to RWD. If I end up breaking a lot of stuff will need to look into some of these options.
Sweet build and super well done! |

Wiring
As usual, I just keep taking things farther than I ever planned. Everytime I work on this thing I'm just not happy with the short cuts I've been trying to take to keeps thing simple. So I took the dash out so I can eliminate all of the auto trans, cruise control, ABS, and airbag wiring. This me the opportunity to wire in the LS1 harness fully merged into the car which I think will be a nice touch.
On the plus side, I will now be able to fully shave the firewall and tuck more wires off of the firewall. It also allows me to do the brake lines different which I'm happy about. The car is also going to lose about 40lbs (estimated) off the front of the car from unused wiring, modules, sensors, and airbags, etc. I've only just begun with the wiring. It looks like Imgur changed thier format so now I can post my pictures (palm to face). I will have to figure that out before my next post. heres a link to the pictures for now. If you look at the font tools area, the little button with mountains on it, that is for adding image urls. Or just manually type in the after each image address. |

wiring, wiring, and wiring
I stripped down the LS harness to get ready to merge it. I've decided I'm probably going to put the GM ecu under the dash where the air bag used to be.
I removed the ABS wiring from the front harness to save some weight and clean things up. Here is all the wiring I've removed so far from ABS, air bags, the old AT trans wiring and controllers, cruise control, etc. Its well over 20lbs from the front end. |

It sure does, plus the airbags themselves are heavy too.
I can shave a little more with a tube bash bar vs the heavy stock sheet metal bumper. |

Well after over 2 years of the wagon sitting untouched and no intention of working in it. I now have 2 boys ages 2 and 6 month old. The realization came that I don’t have time for this project or the desire to build it anymore.
So the bad news.... I gutted everything but the interior and she went to the scrapper. The good news, I have a 2 door that I would like to put the engine in to make a drag car. It’s not a priority but it a thought. Sorry to be another statistic with these LS cars ***129318;***127995;***8205;***9794;***65039; |
