Default Raj Nair - Ford’s President of North America - fired for CoC violation(s)

https://www.businesswire.com/news/ho...-America-Exits

Quote:

DEARBORN, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ford Motor Company today announced that Raj Nair, executive vice president and president, North America, is departing from Ford effective immediately.

The decision follows a recent internal investigation into reports of inappropriate behavior. The review determined certain behavior by Nair was inconsistent with the company’s code of conduct.

“We made this decision after a thorough review and careful consideration,” said Ford President and CEO Jim Hackett. “Ford is deeply committed to providing and nurturing a safe and respectful culture and we expect our leaders to fully uphold these values.”

Said Nair: “I sincerely regret that there have been instances where I have not exhibited leadership behaviors consistent with the principles that the Company and I have always espoused. I continue to have the utmost faith in the people of Ford Motor Company and wish them continued success in the future.”

Nair has been president of Ford North America since June 1, 2017. Prior to that, he served as Ford’s head of global product development and chief technical officer.

Nair’s replacement will be subject to an announcement in the near future.

This news comes one day after TechCrunch discovered the departure of the CEO and co-founder of Chariot, Ali Vahabzadeh, acquired by Ford in September 2016. Ford confirmed that it was no longer in the company, but declined to comment on the nature of its exit. We heard that Vahabzadeh was actually fired in early February after employees signed a letter to Ford boss James Hackett complaining about a toxic work culture and poor employee retention.

I wonder what his severance package is.

The CEO of my company left suddenly, and the details of why were never publicly acknowledged, although rumor has it that he "behaved inappropriately" with the flight attendant on the company private jet. His punishment was the immediate vesting of all his share options and a $500,000/yr annuity for the rest of his life.

A CEO for a company that I work for a while ago had an awesome golden parachute. He came in for just under one year, really accomplished nothing, and then was released with a $55 million contract buyout.

And the pussification of America continues - guy can't even get a handy on the private jet anymore - ridiculous I say. They even allow those here - but the attendants are dudes LOL

When my employer bought another company we acquired a manufacturing plant and it's director. He sucked. He had a parachute in his contract. We paid him to sit at home for 3 years because it was cheaper than firing him.

In regards to Ford, the Code of Conduct violation doesn't necessarily mean sexual harassment. I think it also covers bribery and coercion. Ford cracked down on employees accepting "gifts" from suppliers a few years ago. Ford employees can't accept any gifts from suppliers (food, drink, travel, swag). All purchases must be made with a Ford corporate credit card. Anything purchased with a personal card can't be expensed. One manager was accepting annual all-expenses-paid trips to The Masters in GA, with travel provided by private jet. The same manager was also forcing employees to support his kid's Boy Scout troop in order to receive a favorable performance review.

So you're saying they know what they're doing?
