Default hey guys!....new 2 the forum...would really appreciate any help!..thanks

i currently live in socal.....and drive a 2003 honda si......

im finally ready 2 sell my honda....yay!......and hopefully buy a STI...
or i was......

here is the prob.......i really really wanted 2 buy a used car....(i cant afford a new one) sooooo my options were

STI prob 2004....or cough cough......sorry ....evo 2003......i kno i kno...
i tottaly love love the STI.....everything about it.. the look, the drive, the interior.....

ive driven both the STI and the evo several times....and yes i think the STI is much better.......but here is the prob.....i really want 2 sell my honda now and ive waited along time 2 sell it but.......now the impreza is going 2 change for 2006...im totally afraid of losing resale on a 2004....STI....
so this is why the evo sounds so appealing......they changed the 2006 on that 2 but......prices for the EVO are already very low on 2003....so i think i can afford 2 take the hit.....WHAT SHOULD I DO.......HELP!

my younger brother has a 2003 rsx...which is fixed up very well so far...
so i would loved 2 have a better car than him.....and its his first car!
i kno the wrx would be better also but i think i really would love a STI or EVO...

i was told by Chuck at Irvine Subaru....that you guys are the best for advice on any car needs....THANKS!

really really appreciate any help!

Too many periods. Get whichever one you like better. The STi isn't gonna lose any, or only a very small amount of resale value.

It would depreciate in value anyway, and it's not like you were considering a 2006 STi so I don't see why it would matter.

Save your money and invest in an education? In counting the number of errors in spelling, grammar and punctuation in your post you are in more need of "modding" your knowledge.

hey...
leave 'em alone...
types just like i do...

i like em welcome !

sti vs evo = both good cars
it's a personal decision you know?

are you going to resell soon?
what are your insurance costs?
monthly payments?

work out what is best for you and go for it.
you cant lose either way, both are exceptionally nice cars.

cheers

Ouch, your post gave me a headache to read.

If you're worried about resale, the EVO is definitely not the car to get. Get the 2004 STi, it's not going to depreciate significantly because of anything that gets released in MY2006 so you have nothing to worry about.

THANKS SUBIE GAL

I don't think i will keep the car very long.
Insurance cost of EVO VS. STI ---- STI more expensive but only by like 50 dollars every 6 months or so. I'm 21. My insurance is still very high, but oddly not much higher than the Honda.

The main thing is this, prices of the used evos are about 23k (maybe better)
a used 2004 STI is 24k-27k

But as i see it, ESPECIALLY from your credentials...Subie Gal (saw your website)
i think and hope you maybe right about resale value of the STI even after a body change (rumor) for 2006.

I HOPE......

what do u guys think?

subaru's hold their value pretty well.
i would just get the car that YOU really want?

Take my 2001 ... 2 body changes ago...
i can probably sell it for $4-5k less than i paid for it.

that's not bad... 5 years and 2 body style changes later

*shrug*

if you can afford it, and want the car
then go for it.

All cars will depreciate. Careful buying a used STi, though. Some owners like to romp on those cars from the start. Give it a good test drive before you buy. An Evo likes to burn through its brakes quickly, compared to the STi. And the brake job is a pretty penny (so is the STi's). It's all a matter of taste....choose wisely.

The same can be said of any used car. If you find one used and don't know what to look for (treated bad ect...) then take it to a dealer and have them give it the "once over" . It might cost you 50 bucks or so but it will save you money down the road.

Good luck!

Don't settle for your second choice, you'll regret it later. Get the STI, you'll feel so much better that you got it. Good luck.
