WA 2002 WRX wagon $40,000+ Modifications
It saddens me to admit, the time has come for me to sell my beloved 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX wagon. Although, I'm not currently active on this board, I've been into WRX's since abandoning the Honda scene ('96 JDM H22a Accord Coupe) in 2005. My wife and I have owned two '02 bugeye wagons, an '05 STI, and currently own '15 WRX. But this has always been my baby. I understand a heavily modified ride is tough to find the right home for, but I'm hoping someone out there appreciates this car, before the scavengers start hitting me up to piece it out. I'm asking $20,000, which might seem crazy, but it's a really nice car. I've got the clean title in hand and invoices totaling more than $45,000 from before I took ownership. I'm located in Vancouver, WA. I've included a few photos here, but have several more available upon request. PM me if you would like to see the car. Although not registered, I'm sure a drive around the block wouldn't hurt, if you want to see it in action. Feel free to ask questions for more information. This is truly a rare find.
Here's some more about the car. I'm the 2nd owner of this car. The original owner is a true car guy and wanted to build a top quality, track ready, daily driver. He invested over $40,000 (I've got the records to show it) in name brand parts and labor to build a beast. Some of you that have been around the Portland area since the early 2000's may remember this as the original Rallitek wagon. No expense was spared when this ride was built, from the Techworks "monster" long block, '05 STI 6sp tranny w/DCCD, Perrin GT-35 turbo kit, APS front mount intercooler, to the Brembo Gran Turismo (not STI takeoffs) brakes. Seriously crazy cash was thrown all over this ride, SYMS coilovers, Volk 18" ce28n wheels, Invidia G200 exhaust, Sparco front seats, etc... Any way, after building this ride the original owner still wasn't satisfied with it, so he sold it to me, in 2006. The chassis had almost 30k miles on it, while the motor had less than 2500. Admittedly, I was too old to buy this car back then, but the result is good for the next potential owner, because this car has been adult owned, and garaged it's whole life. Currently the car has just under 61k miles on the chassis, and about 35k on the motor. After purchasing the WRX, I began to use PDX Tuning for all my Subaru servicing. Nothing against Rallitek, but at the time PDXTuning was a little better known for tuning heavily modified rigs. With help from Jarrad, Mick and Dustin this car was putting down a respectible 425 whp on 19lbs of boost. There is a youtube video of it . I daily drove the car for about 3 years, then on 1 fateful spirited drive, the head blew. At the time I was a little financially strapped and thought about just selling it then. Instead, I just covered it up in my garage for couple years. Then it started to just get in the way, so I decided to pony up the cash and get it running again. By this time PDXTuning had given way to Surgeline, and Rallitek had partnered with Volvo tuner IPD, but a newer shop, PRE, was building it's business and took over what I think used to be the Horsepower Freaks dyno. I towed the car to PRE, and they did their magic (new STI head) and got it up and running. The dyno sheet shows it was tuned to 17 lbs and 385 whp. Since then, I've only driven the it periodically on weekends or special occasions. It's one of the best kept 2002 WRX's out there. However, as with all 15+ year old cars, it does have it's issues. Here's a list of the bad stuff about this car: 1. While it currently has no check engine light(CEL), every so often it'll randomly decide to throw code P0171 lean bank 1. There's a ton of info and theories out there about it. I've seen everything from dirty IAC valve, to something about 6sp tranny swap wiring. I've replaced the IAC valve before, and that stopped the code, for a while, but it randomly returned one day. Nowadays if it happens, I either use the Accessport to reset the cpu and cross my fingers on the restart, or I just try to ignore the light as the performance doesn't seem effected, once the car is warm. 2. It's got some small scratches around the corners near the harchback. I'm pretty sure it's from the handlebars of my kids' bikes. 3. One of the Volks is rashed pretty hard in 1 spot, but it works fine. 4. It's not currently registered. It was through 2016, but I didn't drive it much, so I let it lapse. I think that's it for the bad stuff, now for the good. Here's a list of most of the modifications done to the car: 1. Motor built by Techworks engineering, "Monster" long block, lots of internal work done, see their website for details 2. Perrin GT-35r .63 a/r turbo kit 3. APS dr725 front mount intercooler 4. Invidia catless downpipe & G200 exhaust 5. Aquamist HFS-5 meth injection kit 6. '05 STI 6sp tranny w/DCCD 7. Exedy twin plate clutch 8. Dutchman Motorsports axles 9. Volk CE28n 18"x7.5" Bronze 10. Brembo Gran Turismo BBK w/Drilled rotors 11. Perrin sway bars 12. Cusco strut bars, rear carbon fiber 13. Sparco reclining seats 14. Apexi boost controller 15. KYB AGX's and Ground Control adj springs 16. SYMS coilovers (not installed) 17. much more [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

Not even a lowballer? It's so hard to get all the parts in a highly modified car to function in harmony, I hate to part this thing out.

PM's responded. Sorry about the delay, my phone wouldn't update, only my home pc.
I'm resisting the part out for now. I'll try to get an updated video posted on youtube in the next day or two. Thanks to those that have taken the time to respond. |
