Default Van Bortel: Deceptive finance people

Watch out for their finance managers. They state that they are unaware of Subaru's advertised finance rates. We inquired several times and they kept saying that they didn't know where the rates came from that we were asking about. They said to send them a print out or proof. When I responded that the local dealers closer to me quickly confirmed the 1.9% 60 month rate, they simply said that Van Bortel does not offer those rates.

Our lease was expiring in a couple of weeks, and we had no time to order another vehicle elsewhere. We got stuck with their much higher rate, and now are going to refinance. We won't get anywhere near the Subaru Motors Finance rates though. Lesson learned. Investigate the dealers financing options when ordering the vehicle so you have time to make other plans.

1.9%... this thread aged well. I have purchased several cars from Van Bortel over the years and never had anything bad to say. Kitty is a Simon School grad, a great business person and knows what she is doing but that doesn't mean she has never had anyone working for her that was less than perfect. Im sure this thread is truthful and it does happen.

I've just recently discovered the Autonation Subaru Scottsdale, AZ, dealership is not to be trusted. They use bait and switch on their Internet Sales pitches. If you are in AZ, be very aware! Lee
