Default Service before storing the car or after

Hi guys, fellow Subaru driver from Sweden here!

I have a '13 sti which I don't use during winters. Last year I was gonna leave it to a shop for the oil change and whatever was supposed to be changed. However I decided that it would be smarter to just put it in winter storage and that it was smarter to do the service now before I take it out for the summer.

My question is, was this smart or should I just have done the service last year before storing it?

Thank you

I've researched this myself and it's normally recommended to do all maintenance before storage. Including cleaning and waxing the car before winter.

i myself would give it a good once over, and wash/wax etc, then park it. change the oil when taking it out again.
