Default MAP Stage 1 91 OTS newest version

Is anyone running the newest version of the MAP stage one OTS tune.

I have their V7 and reached out to Ian and he sent me their newest version. He said they updated the following.

We made some changes to ignition timing during EGR activation, as well as some tweaks to the boost PID tables.

If anyone is running this tune please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

I got 91 and 93 one month ago. I don't know which version is it?

I can't answer your question, but here is some of my thoughts about their maps:

About the 91, I didn't do a lot of test but I would say it feels better and stronger a bit than the OTS Cobb. With 91 fuel, FBK or FLK are very rare.
Throttle seems more and very linear.

And for the 93, still not sure if it feels stronger (butt dyno) than the 93 Cobb v.302.
But less knocks than Cobb.

I got the MA Performance stage 1 91 Map about two weeks ago, feels a lot stronger everywhere than the Cobb OTS. Revs to the moon, scared me on the top end. Never tried the 93, can't get reliable fuel here in British Columbia.

I asked about v8 weeks ago, and he said it was only for people who are running their MAP intakes, so I guess its a stage 1+ revision.

I assume this also applies to those of us running their stage 2+ tune? I just sent an email to Ian I'll let you know what he says.

I did tell him I am on stock intake. I will send him back an email to confirm what he sent me is for stock intake. I have not yet installed the tune on the car.

Ian got back to me and said there's no v8 tune, their latest tune should end in "FRN.ptm"

For an e-tune, I would prefer Eric @ Torqued Performance.
I think it's now 200$ or maybe less.

He tuned my 2016 on 91 and 93. He's very fast with revisions. I was able to get 4 revisions in a day! Was very satisfied. I had some issues months later after the winter and he tweaked the map again for free.
With Bren Tuning, it's 30days only.

I'm planing to get my 2018 WRX pro tuned (Lachute Performance) so I just gave a try with the MAP while pending, else I would have choose Eric again if I wanted an e-tune.

You are on a stage 1 correct not stage 1 plus (intake).

If yes did you have their V7 any difference?

Idk Bren's got a good rep, where Eric not so much. His tunes are usually 350$, and it's discounted to 200. I'm sold. I'm sure Bren wouldn't mind doing a revision for you, if you had a problem down the road.

Also on v7 currently and it runs fine. Top end is good, first gear pulls harder than COBB OTS/stock. Doesn't have dead end loss of power after 4500. runs a tad lean, (WOT 11.4 for most logs that I ran) but no issues thus far. Able to hit target boost if it's not ****ty humid summer jersey weather.

I second the terrible summer we're having in jersey. If it isn't raining it is too humid to do anything fun. Including decent time weather.

Yes stage 1, everything stock. I should have mentioned it.

I am getting some pretty terrible FKL (-2 through -6) readings at so many various points in my commute. I also had a DAM as low as a mere 0.062. (Not 0.6, but actually LESS than 0.1).

I tried 3 different gas stations with an octane booster even and I still can't get the DAM back up. I reset the ECU and my DAM keeps dropping again. It's pretty horrible. This never happened with the MA Performance tune Prior to the "FRN" one.

I swapped back to COBB Stage 1 and it's flawless. No knock at all. Anyone else having this issue?

Maybe your specific car doesn't like this particular revision. Why not treat yourself and get a custom e-tune ? I believe Ron and Bren still have holiday specials going on. We are talking about 200-250 bucks for a custom tune. I highly recommend going that route. You would be crazy not to take advantage of those deals if you are having issues with OTS.

What he said. For 200$ it's a steal of a deal.

Post some logs in the log thread to help diagnose the issue. There can be a lot of false knock with AP readings, however you want to make sure you're not seriously damaging anything

I was just the opposite, cobb stage 1 93 gave me some knock where MAP stage 1 93 was far less noticeable.

Is winter fuel causing this. I started getting a little knock about a week ago. I was fine all summer even during 100+ temps.

How is winter gas different? If anything it should add ethanol and protect against knock?

It depends on the state in question. Down here in South FL when it got cold for a few days I started to pick up knock beyond the -1.41 and -2.82. As soon as temps rose into the 80 knock is gone. I would weigh temperature>gas blend in my case, but I'm too new to this to make a legit claim. I did try reflashing during the cold and having it relearn trims but nothing looked out of line. If someone could make sense of this I would like to hear your thoughts about it.

My temps are in the 40s from 80-90s when I was tuned. But it's a ftcl tune and adjusts for weather/temp/altitude, etc.

What setup and tune are you running? OTS map or pro e tune? You shouldn't be knocking with temp changes.
