Default Dogecoin - really?

So, i was reading a security alert about two google play apps that were covertly mining digital currency, with millions of downloads forming a phone farm of distributed computing. It was linked to an accompanying article.

http://arstechnica.com/security/2014...ryptocurrency/

As i get toward the end, I read the following line: "...containing hidden code that made handsets part of an anonymous Dogecoin mining pool. The network belonging to the purveyor of the apps subsequently earned thousands of Dogecoins. "

I knew about the nascar connection with dogecoin, but that seemed to be a crowdsource funded effort - i figured the actual crypto-currency was a joke.

This is apparently legit? really? Dogecoin?? Much value? Such currency?

Stop the world, i wanna hop off.

Goatcrapp, this has already been covered a few times. Before posting please do a little search to see if there's already a thread. It makes it easier in the long run. Help me help you. Thanks.

How to choose a cryptocurrency exchange? What parameters should you pay attention to?
I want to trade. Considering such https://bikkex.com/ fees, is this normal? I am considering this exchange for trading, there are good volumes and a lot of cryptocurrencies.
