I read about the Invincible comic book series a couple years before this animated show was even announced, so I know the broad strokes of overall comic arc.

It's funny to hear from comics fans who are reviewing the show that they think the cartoon is even more graphic with the gore than the comics was.

Also during eps 2 & 3 I kept thinking... did Bobby Hill grow up to become a govt secret agent?

Shared universe with King of the Hill?

Invincible. As most of you have stated, the first three episodes are excellent. I have not read the comics, but I wonder if what _______ said to his _____ was a lie or not.

Default Screaming deal ends 4/5

$.99/month for 2 months gets Amazon Music and a premium channel (Showtime, Starz, or AMC+ - gets you Sundance for some hella good sleeper series, can't say enough about The Bureau 8.7 IMDB).

https://www.amazon.com/music/amazon-...cription-deals

EDIT - went with AMC+ and Gangs of London delivered. Well paced bits that are violent, gory, and gruesome; action & fights scenes are of big studio quality. The storylines are fitting & believable (a couple moments of ridiculousness) and the actors move it along finely (they had to trim the budget somewhere). E6 oh my.

Amazon has spent 465 million on the first season of their Lord of the Rings show. Hopefully it's not an expensive flop.

Yeah I saw that.

Hopefully they spent a few bucks on a good script writer and showrunner.

We laugh, but it's unfortunate that more money isn't spent on getting Charlie Kaufman, Christopher McQuarrie, James Mangold or Aaron Sorkin type of screenwriters to work on this stuff.

I mean, I'm all for developing new talent, but I feel like they should earn their wings or at least be heavily supervised before being given a large project.

Screenwriters: JD Payne and Patrick McKay

https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com...-rings-series/

Ironically, before researching this I was going to make a joke like, "Unlike Orci working on Star Trek. That would be horrible." Low and behold.

J. Michael Straczynski to tie the story together.

Amazon is spoiling us, missed last deal on Epix for .99, but now they offer Showtime 2 months .99 per ends 4/25. Still working through AMC+ (Sundance also) but wanted to check out City on The Hill, I've heard it's one of Kevin Bacon's better performances.

City on the Hill is really good. Definitely worth the watch.
I caught it a moth or so ago when it was available on Prime.

This show is so massive in production value, it is unbelievable.
Having the action take place on three continents/multiple countries is unlike any other show I can recall. I can't even imagine the logistics involved in the production. It is also extremely well written, shot and directed.

It is very surprising it hasn't made much louder noise, considering how notable it is.
I believe the budget was something like 180 million. For a limited series, this is astonishing.

Watched it last night and OMG this show is incredible! It really knows how to hook and drag along in the best ways possible. The characters have so much depth and nuance.

I NEED TO KNOW WHAT OMNI-MAN WANTS!!!

I'm purposely avoiding comic spoilers.

So I just enrolled and my email says I get Ahowtime for $.99 for 12 months! Holy **** thats a good deal!

It sounds like the email is a typo but just having this in writing is a very good way to strongarm Amazon to keep honoring that price

Sense8 filmed on location for everything, which was Berlin, Chicago, London, Mexico City, Mumbai, Nairobi, Reykjavík, San Francisco, and Seoul.

That's also part of the reason it got canceled.

Amazon's next big budget movie. Just a teaser, semi-interested to see more.

Game of Thrones also had multiple teams in different locations each season.
