How much more vibration/noise if there from the bushings? I want to get the subframe bushings next but was concerned about the noise levels. I just installed the kartboy diff lockdown with carrier bracket inserts and love it.

Some, but not much. Most of the noise comes from the trans mounts. At first the noise was obvious, now I don't even notice it.

Koyorad & Perrin Oil Cooler
Keeping it cool
There were (2x) fitment issues, that were easily resolved: #1 Passenger Rad-Fan touched (& scrathed) the charge pipe because the Radiator is too big: I will post an easy DIY fix. #2 The Oil Cooler Hoses (w/ the bigger radiator) wouldn't fit with the OEM coolant tank. I replaced the OEM tank with a Perrin relocate tank: Over all: Last edited by De36; 05-19-2020 at 10:36 AM. |

Spare Tire Delete
The STI RA & STI Edition.White both come without a spare tire to save weight. Instead they come with a tire repair kit.
I have to remove my spare when I am at the track. Also the spare tire no longer fits with the BBK. I did a little research and found that the RA & E.W have a foam to take up the space of the spare tire. I can now use my trunk again! E85 (Flex Fuel) - Cobb FF & AEM Fuel Pump
^Thanks Jeff. The B8s w/ progressive springs are a nice Track/Street compromise over coilovers.
I finally caved in and am going E85: I am going to be over the torque limit of the OEM clucth, I also ordered the ACT clutch & flywheel. |

Palmer Motorsport Park Trackday w/ TNIA
Last trackday for a while. The car is getting E85 & Clutch/Fly:
Got a little sideways here: Props to this gentlemen bought this 2020 911.4S last week and drove the tires off it. I wasn't able to over take him, but I stuck with him for the entire session. He came over to me afterwards "impressed that a Subaru was that fast"... Last edited by De36; 06-20-2020 at 12:22 PM. |

ACT Clucth & Flywheel Kit (SB11-HDSS)
I will be over the OEM clutch-capacity when I upgrade to E85 Flex-Fuel in a couple of weeks, therefor I upgraded the clutch, fly, & PP. Here is a few pics for fun. On 2018+ you have to use the ACT flywheel, the pressure plate won't bolt to the OEM flywheel.
ACT Capacity: 449 ftlb This is eveything the kit comes with, note that the pilot bearing comes installed: Subaru's OEM clutch forks are very weak, it's a must to upgrade. Also installed a rear main for good measure: The Harbor Frieght trans-jack worked very well: Flywheel installed: Clutch aligned: Pressure-Plate bolted: Flywheel weights: Assy weight: |

EFI's dyno reads much lower than the other local shops. They don't inflate the numbers using correction factors. The clutch is great. It engages much quickier (shorter pedal travel), still getting use to this. From a dead stop the flywheel needs a few more RPMs to get moving. Over all very happy. The new WRX trans is pretty good based on the feedback I got from friends who race series with it. Subaru really did a ground up refresh on the WRX trans. I don't get the impression the swap is worth it. The EJ trans swap would be good if you are shooting for +500 hp. The WRX's Rear diff is the new weak point in the drive tran. |

It’s not the gears or transmission strength I’m really looking for, it’s the diffs and mechanical linkage for shifter. With my Cusco rear LSD it was great but only a bandaid. We’ll see if I ever pull the trigger. DCCD would be fun again too. Good to know about the clutch. Have fun |

Verus Hood Louvers (VA)
My custom install of Verus' hood louvers. Keeping those under-hood temps down on the track.
Though Verus' template makes the job a "breeze". I did not like that they were angled & layed over the hood crease. |

A good read man!
I’m curious how it holds up on the track? I have a 2020wrx and want to track it after a few thousand miles are on it. Currently sitting at 113 miles. We’re there any concerns you had before tracking it? I plan to keep mine stock, but want to have some fun with it as well. |

The WRX & STI aren't the fastest cars on the track (sorry to break everyone's hearts), but the can hold their own with a few minor upgrades. Be prepared to point by Spec-Miatas. You are correct, do not track (or autox) the car until after you first oil change. After your first oil change, go nuts. Personally: I had no concerns, I have tracked my other cars. Of course no one on the track wants to scratch their car (esp with only 113 miles on it). So most people play nice. Mechanically: The oil over heating is the biggest issue on the FA & EJ engines. This is due to the turbo. . The brakes on these cars won't make it through a trackday. I know this from personal experience. Honestly, I am very impressed with the FA20dit (with exception for the con-rods). Bare minimum track mods are: #1 Perrin Oil Cooler - The turbo fries the oil. #2 Front Hawk DTC60 Pads & DBA 4000 Rotors Additional mods that make the track enjoyable: #1 200 UTQG Tire (R1R, Direzza, RT615... ANY) #2 Rear Sway Bar (Adjustable) #3 Verus Throttle Spacer - Heel/Toe #4 Bilstein B8 Shocks - The OEM shocks wont last. Power mods are a waste of money, until your seat time has you out driving your car. A video by Turner Motorsports I really like: Last edited by De36; 02-27-2021 at 07:01 PM. |

Looking good! Do you think it would be okay to track it After the break in period of 1000 miles and an oil change? I want to get the Perrin oil cooler as well, but would it be fine to track it without? No tune on mine, just stock. |

It should be OK after the 1st break in oil change yes. If you are doing a TNiA (3 sessions) once a month, you maybe able to get away without an oil cooler.
