Lift kit for a Jeep Grand Wagoneer (where to buy)
Where's a good online site to buy lift kits? Any recommendations?
Friend has an old Jeep Grand Wagooneer, think it is an '87. He's looking for a SkyJacker 6" kit for it and asked me to help him find some info online. I found a number of websites that sell the stuff, just wasn't sure which one is best/legit. Anyone have any similar experiences? I know somebody put a 4" kit on their WRX...heh.

They seem to be the summit racing of truck stuff, so I'm sure if anyone sells it they do |

Also check in with 'Old Man Emu', they make specialized suspension parts for real & hard-core off roaders of all makes and models.
Toyota and Rangie nuts are big on them in specific. Well known and been around for a long time. I'd also have your firend check with one of the eleventybillion Jeep owner forums as current owners should be able to help him. - Janq |

Buddy is about as internet/computer illiterate as it gets, so I'll probably just give him a bunch of 800 #s to call... |

He has a lot of them sitting on his property all running and dating back to the 60's. I'll shoot him an e-mail at work and ask what he suggests in specific. GW's are kick ass and tough trucks. - Janq |

Found this GW on a local surfing message board, it was on the other side of FL. We drove 3hrs or so to go look at it, buddy wanted it then and there. Of course, near stock is never good enough, so up it goes. |

Update:
My buddy just called me at work to respond to my e-mail. As it turns out he says hardly anyone makes parts specific to the GW as it's not all that popular as relative to other more well known trucks. He in turn rigs up stuff on his own eiher from piecs desined for other trucks and modified or he'll purchase a complet suspension and modify the trucks mounting points to accomodate his need. Basically he had notihing useful to offer for you that does not involve Monster Garage style tactics. - Janq P.S. - It's time for me to swap out/charge the batteries in my wireless keyboard asit's dropping letters and buffer underrunning again. <argh!> |

No problem, thanks for the info though Janq.
Weird side note: My wireless mouse crapped out the other day...tried to change the batteries to no avail. I should probably try it again before I toss it/replace it. |

Here's what you do to bring it back to life... Pick it up and note on the bottom side a small push button. Hit it. That'll reconnect the mouse as a device to your wireles receiver at the PC. You may need to hit the 'Connect' button on the receiver first followed by the mouse if you're using a Logitech. - Janq |

You can lurk and search the forums at www.pirate4x4.com for free. There's a ton of info over there, plus a few rednecks too.
