2009 Lamborghini Miura
http://www.automobilemag.com/future_...orghini_miura/
The Lamborghini Miura Concept is a latter-day version of the 1966 P400 Miura, which many regard as the sexiest car ever from the raging bull. But unlike the current Ford GT, which is virtually indistinguishable from the original GT40, the Lamborghini Miura Concept--credited to Audi/Lamborghini design chief Walter de Silva--is inspired by the original Miura but is clearly more modern. The chin features aerodynamic winglets, resulting in a somewhat more contrived front-end appearance than the lovely original. But de Silva's design also has many nice aspects, including exquisitely detailed head- and taillights, wraparound front glass, brushed metal louvers over the engine, and four of the largest tailpipes we've ever seen. Although the show car isn't a runner, it was designed on the Gallardo's platform with production feasibility in mind. If the response to the concept is amply enthusiastic, look for the Miura as a 2008 or 2009 model with a 6.5-liter version of the Murcielago's V-12 engine. While the original Miura's motor was transversely mounted, the new one would have a more conventional longitudinal configuration. Expect more than 650 hp and a price north of $350,000 if and when the Miura appears.

Nice, very old school looking. Very round and smooth. Not sharp, busy looking like modern Lambos. Doesn't really look like anything Lambo would putinto production though. Supercars are supposed to be high-tech and futuristic looking.

Beautiful automobile, but they should have gone for the gold and put the engine in sideways.

Pretty ugly. I liked the first "reborn Miura" shown in Autoweek a while back (the green one). This one looks ugly. Getting sick of retro-everything, too. Loved the original.

Last I heard, they had no intentions of going in this direction for Lambo. With Porsche trying to buy up VW, which owns Lambo btw, I don't think that this will ever get produced. I will be happy just to see Porsche not stomp out this rival if it does take over VW.

Yeah I recall Lamborghini said there was no desire to build this car. They weren't going to do a retro car. Maybe they've changed their mind but I doubt it.

Hmmm - sort of nice, but a tad too retro for me. I'll pass.
