Post Gas tank cap

I don't hear air leaking sound when I open my gas tank to fill it up. It has been like it since I bought it. I was just wondering today if this was normal because my other cars all make air leaking noise when the cap is open.

I believe that if your cap is loose and leaking, the check engine light will come on.

My light is now on because here in Oregon we have high school dropouts pump our gas for us. Lucky me.

is it just me or does our car not start if the cap isn't on all the way? I thought I read that somewhere.
