Post SVX spotted yesterday

I saw the 2nd SVX of my life yesterday that wasn't at a dealership. Parked in the middle of town. The guy was sitting in the driver's seat. Beautiful black car in mint condition with tinted windows. Very nice. I pulled up next to the guy in my RS and waved and he looked at me like I was an idiot.

Same thing happend when I saw a new WRX Wagon on the road the other day. The 55-year-old woman with gray hair and bifocals looked at me and freaked out and slammed on her brakes when I waved to her. There should be some sort of personality test before somebody's allowed to buy a Subaru. These people just don't fit.

I know what you mean Brian,
Most of the RS's here around town are owned by people who don't even know what they're driving..
I've gotten many responses just like yours..
Mainly just frowns and look aways..
Wish they would give me a thumbs up once in while...Rarely happens...

Usually a hand wave, thumbs up, flash of lights and a honk is a way to say,
Hey, nice car!

A neighbor of mine has two SVXs, one black and one dark green. He parks them outside at the curb on a busy street. Lots of drunk drivers hit cars all along that street all the time. I think he's nuts to leave them out like that. He had one for sale for a while, but I guess he decided to keep them both. I've never talked to him. He lives across the alley from me and down several houses. The day of my first new WRX sighting a lady came down the alley in the green SVX and I waved, she looked at me like I was crazy. Oh well, the WRX driver didn't return the wave either. I've seen several new WRX. The only one that waved back, was a blue one in Palmdale that was missing the left front fender and bumper already (!) Must be too busy waving instead of driving? Just kidding...

Ha, well here in East Lansing I have never seen an RS or WRX on the road (except mine )! I did see my first WRX on I94 in western MI last Thursday. I waved, but he just blew by me.

There are a lotta Pontiac Grand AM's around here....go figure.

There is a guy who has a nice red SVX just right around where I live.. but it kinda looks neglected. Except it is covered in the winter, good idea. I have counted to date 7 RS's in my area, including mine. Its nice to know there are so few. Some of them will wave, but I only see one on a regular basis and the wave/honk is defintely common. I don't even think I would wave to someone in a WRX. With the exception of one that I can think of where they sold their RS and got a WRX(I think anyways, one day RS, next week, WRX parked in same spot). I don't think some people who are driving the WRX's know where the car even came from. Its sad really..

The other day I'm walking down the street with my girlfriend and I see and svx so I comment on how rare they are. As soon as I get the words out of my mouth I see another one parked on the other side of the street Weird...

It seems that about 25% of the cars in Utah are Subarus, so it's no surprise that I usually see one or two SVXs a day.
